I feel that if Israel doesn't get with 'it" and Obama gets a second term Israel will find the relationship more strained and US Aid will be much reduced.
Oh, you mean that the US might decide to 'restrain' Israel in the future, not that they have already been doing so (which is a laughable claim).

If you say it’s OK to take into account someone’s past history when you decide whether or not you’re going to take them out, doesn’t that take us all into a very grey and murky area? At what point do I say “well he killed X number of people so I’m allowed to kill him”?
Decide? Allowed? It sounds like you think the soldiers attacking this fortified compound sat around for a while philosophising about death and morality. Tactically it is highly relevant to know whether the person you are confronting in battle has a proven willingness to kill, and mass killing is regarded as another class of ruthlessness again isn't it? If the US just wanted him dead they could have bombed the place.
Perhaps John can clarify for us what he was saying upthread because you and I have heard it rather differently.

There was some argument about that from interested parties in the media.

But they have already done the planning. Delivery can happen any time once the relvance of factors you've mentioned like displacement are decided upon - and the processing capacity from their damaged Christchurch centre is replaced. That is a matter of months, not five years.

It has happened twice before (1931 & 1941), why is the 2011 census any different?
Reliance on Census data by both business and public sectors is far more pervasive now than 70 and 80 years ago. And 5 years is a relatively longer wait now than then, given the pace of life.
