Clayton Weatherston?
I suppose we're not allowed to talk about him whilst trial is in progress, but, yeah... my sympathy for him having to wear glasses, be Dux of his school, stay at motels with mum & dad instead of billets...well, it knows no bounds.

felchtard
Ah, my vocabulary increases! Tho wikidict sez it's "felchard" without the "t". It must be common practice amongst whales perhaps?

just a weirdly bullying response to a bully
Riiight. So we all just sit about playing nice and waiting for the day he slips in his own oil and does himself some major damage. Oh, maybe he just did.

Cuntstruck is best used when it really suits.
like screeching it at full volume when you find out yr partner has strayed, i seem to recall ;-)

Rodney Hide seemed to display an empathy previously absent from his persona.
Really? You're having me on :-)
I couldn't bear to watch him making like a demented squirrel and remembering, at the same time, that he's a powerful little snot of an MP.

Tim, you mean " stoicism" i presume, being stoic? I'm not quite getting what you mean here:
so perhaps as one has become the story we might tell ourselves and other has become entrenched in the culture.
Sorry, maybe I'm being a bit thick. i agree stoicism has been seen as a pioneer culture's virtue - when I read the latest Listener's review of James Belich's new book "Replenishing the Earth: the Settler Revolution & Rise of the Anglo World" and it describes Hokitika in 1867 having 102 hotels, i reckon the settler wives must have been very stoic indeed!

Awestruck? Not as good as cuntstruck tho.

"That was Intense" seemed to displace blown away among the young fellahs.

Thanks Sacha. I seem to recall the Southern Basin oil rights being discussed around the same time and wondered if the Act was a bit of pre-emptive positioning to avoid potential future conflict with that.
