Just like the short leather skirt that Eric Bana wore as Hector in Troy was the most fitting attire for the activity he was engaged in.
Appreciation of this moment was almost immediately spoiled by the memory of That Scene from Alexander.

No equivalent for blokes
Not wishing to further any stereotypes, but...
Craig? Is there an equivalent for blokes?

and not actually test the specific hypothesis in question
See:
Now, because this will come up, let's be clear. It's the adultery which causes the earthquakes, but the adultery is caused by the dress choices of women. Men have no free will or control over their own actions in this situation, because of their Animalistic Penis Brains.

Tricker, is when/why/for how long it's okay to look.
I try to operate along this line: if the thought "Am I staring?" crosses my mind, it's time to stop. Without a doubt, though, what I was doing to the waitress at the Bicycle Thief on Saturday was ogling. I don't think she noticed.
The waitress at Coney's did notice, but she smiled and indeed winked at me, so I didn't stop.
A tip for rookies, though. My breasts are on the front of my body. So is my face. So if you are staring at my breasts, I can probably see you doing it. Try speaking to me. Say something complimentary but not dickish.
I may not be the best guide, however. I don't mind being whistled at.

I'll do my strumpetry my own way, thank you very much.
You can't beat a strumpet.
If you're really serious you should be able to use just the crest.
I'm not sure what message the strategically-placed sheep would send.

Well if it's an earthquake, and nobody mentions it, does it float?
We have enough data to establish a normal "background" earthquake level - caused, I suppose, by people like Jolisa. In order for the theory to be validated, there needs to be an exceptional amount of seismic activity to accompany the exceptional amount of immodesty.
I rather like "lacivious wanton jade!"
The only condition under which I will accept use of the word "whore" is if it's preceded by the word 'vapid'. This is part of my Whedon Manifesto.
I don't believe, like Craig, there are any circumstances under which I can accept use of the phrase "so-called feminist". Again, that post represents the Boobquake thread as some kind of Girls Gone Wild male-servicing bacchanal, and it really isn't.
I'm glad women are using boobquake and brainquake together, as that deals to the rather nasty prejudice where large-breasted women are perceived as being stupider than their smaller-chested collegues. Or my initial thought, that was I being asked yet again to choose between having low-cut tops, or a brain.
Not quite sure how to cover both though. Can I make a skirt out of my degree?

I was thinking more along the lines of activism versus commercialism (boobs on bikes is advertising is it not?)
Which is totally fair enough, it IS different. But what Russell is referring to (I believe) is me pointing out that people were able to have long conversations about Boobs on Bikes without ever asking what the women involved thought or felt about it, robbing them of all agency over their own actions and all importance in the debate. So the point about making the reaction of the men of supreme value and not caring about the experience of the women stands in that instance as well.

Loved your tweet about this yesterday:
I'd just come out of about two hours of reading comments. I was quite cross. Boy, are those close to me fucking sick of hearing about this.
Also, a while back, for some reason, I promised people I would go out for an evening showing absolutely no cleavage at all. Turned out my wardrobe was incapable of providing. OTOH, I do wish they'd done this at a slightly warmer time of year. Australians women are very happy, as Boobquake is a public holiday for them. We should be gleeful because, like every world-wide event, we'll be First to See the... Sun.
Another good excuse to wear a skirt and cycle
Ah, the answer to my frequent high-school problem of having to pull my skirt out of my gears: shorter skirts.

It'd be remiss of me not to thank the women whose words and ideas helped me with this post enormously: Megan, Danielle, and Lucy.

Enough atheist propaganda. Atheism isn't about thinking, as any acquaintance with them shows. It's about convenience.
Roger, I'd like to present you with the Please Do Keep Talking Award for Pwn Goal of the Week. None of us could do your position as much of a disservice as you are.
