My summer reading 'plans' consist of the aforementioned The Children’s Book, and this baby, which I damn well will get my hands on, and then possibly lick in a degrading fangrrl orgy of hero-worship.
Seconding Philip's recommendation of the Book Depository, too.

Love the gnome
My ex-husband loved that song. His first birthday after we started shagging I spent weeks looking for it, and I can still remember the massive swoop of joy I felt when I finally found it. For years it was compulsary playing at KAOS parties - at least, ones at our house.

Okay, here's what I want to know. My son and I both have quite severe astigmatism. Are we going to get anything other than a nasty headache out of this?

I would not have picked the ministry in question, had I not been told
I was going to say, "Gosh, really?", but I was worried I might critically deplete the world's sarcasm supply.

Ah, Deborah's comment reminded me, and then I promptly forgot again, that my actual non-humourous favourite PAS comment of the year is one of hers. I think there's a lot of System at its very best in there - a calm but absolute, inarguable take-down, and an expression of anger and frustration that wasn't angry.

As an update to this, I was away from my partner for our anniversary this year, for the first time. He sent me a single red rose - tied, with florist's ribbon, to a packet of salt and vinegar chips. I adore him.
I fell in love for the first time when I was thirteen. Looking back on that relationship now with all the benefit of hindsight and 'maturity', it was love, as it always has been for me: intense, passionate and unquestionable.
Which makes me sounds like an unbearably smug goit. Carry on.

I would tell the hilarious story about my mis-pronunciation of "Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite," but you would all think me a pretentious git, if you do not think so already.
Which immediately, for some reason, reminded me of this:

I got the top comment, and even better it just kept on giving!! Got to love that. Do I get a prize for that? Surely I do?!
Always interesting and enjoyable to interact with people of mostly different viewpoints.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all
Cheers for being such a Good Sport about it, James.
