  • Up Front: The British Are Coming,

Me too me too! Would trample hoards for such a coat! If we can imagine it, it surely must exist somewhere in this universe?

Within minutes of my putting this column up, a friend of mine had produced this. It's crushed velvet, which is a bit... whatever the goth equivalent of twee is, but the colour is good and the cut is almost but not quite right.

I have a long grey 1940s Great Coat

I used to have the use of an Air Force Great Coat. Incredibly warm, slightly too small for me, and yeah, astoundingly heavy.

  • Field Theory: 5-7 7-6 7-6 3-6 16-14,

Nice, Tom. So you make a really offensive statement that has NO basis in fact, and top it off with 'subs are pathetic'.

But you're taking his 'unreconstructed Nazism' personally, so you get to just slag people off with no basis, yes? Charming.

  • Field Theory: 5-7 7-6 7-6 3-6 16-14,

There is something SERIOUSLY fucked up about Formula 1.

The question he was asked was "Who is your favourite fascist dictator?" WTF was he supposed to say?

but also because Max likes dressing up as a Nazi in sex games with prostitutes, with the hookers playing Jewish camp inmates.

Tom, dude, the women were dressed as German soldiers. Max Mosley is a SUB. Okay, you don't like the guy or his sexual practices, but could you not just make shit up please?

  • Speaker: About That Telescope,

Quite. Bollard would've wasted those amateurs.

Hey! Who hid this from me?

The spectators are willowy bisexual women, who wear dresses made of gauzy material; and when the arc-lights are behind them you can see right through their clothing, to their skimpy underwear, and their lithe bisexual bodies.

I don't think Peter Dunne really wrote that.

I'd feel guiltier, but I happen to know that Haywood is on a plane to California, the prick.

  • Hard News: .... and the Rock 'n' Roll,

The safety video and the related TV ad have been very well received and drawn few complaints from anyone.

I think it's very well done. The Air NZ people (people, mind) look like they're wearing clothes. The Google woman (lovely lovely breasts aside) looks like she's wearing body paint.

So you're thinking page 19 wasn't depressing enough?

Only one thing to do at this point, then.

I'll second the recommendation of Julie's piece, it's lovely and remarkably sensible.

  • Up Front: I Love it When a Plan Comes Together,

Perhaps they feel that as the UK tax-payers have funded it, they are entitled to it for free, and the rest of us should pay?

Which brings me back round to Russell's point on another thread. IF I could pay for it, I would. But I can't, it's not available to buy.

They tipped me to crazy over QI, which I can't legitimately watch here, and when they did release series one on DVD - three years after production and as the result of an internet petition - it was only released regioned for the UK.

And relatedly, the first of this batch of Torchwood radio plays is available for download today. It says Britain only, but I've just done it no problems.

Though again, BBC, why UK-only, what would be the point?
