Well I just watched 3 News with regard Insurance peeps fronting up to Cantabrians. Some of the most conservative people I have seen in a long time. Almost tears. First time despair.Lots of elderly.I think they are feeling really alone. They need some sort of support now. Their age is indicative of the big picture of abandonment down there. It’s so wrong. Fuck this Government.

at last – the flying car
A friend has been working on the Martin Jetpack for years now and all through the earthquakes without too much inconvenience, for it has of course been built and refined down in Chch. So maybe a flying car is not too far off. :)

Did they review the efforts of the other teams in the running for medals? How could it be fair if they didn’t?
All coaches had the right to ask for a review. If they didn't, which they didn't, completely fair. It was only one performance of one gymnast on one apparatus. I now cant remember which one it was sorry but they only reviewed one gymnast on one thing.Think it was dismount of the even bars,or pummel.

For me the Balmoral Capitol and Oruru Swamp Palace are ones where many hours were spent from school day matinees,
I have the pleasure of actually living near both of those. :)

Geoff, great photos. Would you know what theatre I went to as a child? Probably a first memory of going to the theatre for me would be of Shirley Temple matinees on a Saturday afternoon somewhere near Papanui in Chch. Where would it be? It would have been circa 1969.
