  • David Cormack,

    Finally entry through the front.

Right, everyone's an expert in this.

  • HORansome,

I like how, in Cactus Kate's incredibly badly written denoucement of both Keith and Russell, she goes from phrasing hypotheticals such as:

When you all go out does Russell Brown claim the entertainment expenses through this company?

    to assertions like:

If you are not being paid to work for him what is the legal justification for this entertainment expense?

I mean, why doesn't she just ask what appears to the kind of question she really wants an answer to, which is 'When did you stop beating your wife?'

Keith you really are a numb nuts and Russell should demote you to last on his list of blogs. You have relaunched my blog to perfection. You should have taken my advice to combine sex and travel the other day for your own sake etc etc etc.

What in Christ's name is this? I love communications from Bizarro World. It's fascinating to see a little into a world where everything is backwards.

and Russell should demote you to last on his list of blogs.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that fuckit nevermind.

    Wow...just...wow.

Hilarious...can't be bothered with any of the details (I mean who really cares how/why Gotcha is structered/located etc), but the anger is so...angry!

Watch out Keith, if CK keeps on like this, you could be in trouble....oh no wait, you're the one who usually makes sense, has well constructed arguments etc, it's the OTHER lot who are complete nutters. Carry on!

Well at least for today anyway.

You've filled my friday with such joy - glimpses into Looking Glass Land such as these are rare moments to treasure. (although I readily ackowledge I probably couldn't stand more frequent exposure.)

    love your work Keith.

Or you're a blogger prone to accusing your political and personal enemies of various forms of heinous skull-duggery and douche-bagosity? Personally, I'm still not giving a shit about Mr. Slater's affairs but it's an endless source of amusement how often those who dish the bitch and demand transparency and accountability at the top of their voices, can't take it back.

And to think Kate's the smart one of the trio...

  • Joshua Drummond,

When I read stuff like that little diatribe I always try to put myself in the writer's shoes, or rather, their head. In this case, I imagine CK has something like the sound of an angry swarm of bees filling her brain.

What can I say, if that is the way Kate "clarifies" things for her clients I am not surprised she had to leave NZ to find work. Only in Byzantine could such a mind find employ.

  • Keith Ng,

So, you don't own Gotcha.co.nz, or Gotcha Publishing Limited, and you're not an authorised officer of Gotcha Publishing Limited... but you were the person who registered it in Belize.

Gotcha Publishing Limited does not own Gotcha.co.nz, and has absolutely nothing to do with the site... so a person who was not you or Cameron Slater erroneously registered it to an absolutely unconnected IBC in Belize. Which just happened to have been registered by you a month before.

And the "Copyright Gotcha Publishing Limited" was yet another typo, which just happened to be the name of this absolutely unconnected IBC.

    ...meh.

I just wanted to do something that I could do with any other company in NZ - find out who the directors are. You pretty much trumped me with Belize law right from the get-go, and I couldn't think of a way of getting around it.

    So I asked.

As Scotty says, you were well within your rights to tell me to fuck off the first time, and well within your rights to continue telling me to fuck off. All I had was "hey, you're in Belize".

Instead, what started out as a completely normal and legal business arrangement that you weren't ashamed of suddenly had nothing to do with you or the website, and any connection to the company is "corrected".

I don't think anyone with an actual purview gave a toss to begin with, but feel free to continue with the wild, swerving evasion. Still, I think Scotty's advice is sound: You should've stuck with "fuck off".

And Steve Barnes, its Association of CONSUMERS and Taxpayers". Plenty of beneficiaries don't wish to be taxpayers either do they and you don't crank on about them?"

Technically beneficiaries do pay taxes and not just GST. As to whether beneficiaries "wish" to be taxpayers or not is pure speculation and a vast generalisation at the same time.
I would imagine many beneficiaries would rather have a well paying job. But hey. Kate, like the Cactus she models herself on, is just bitter and prickly.

  • sagenz,

Fucking hell. I think this all rather demonstrates that the best interaction with these people is none at all.
FWIW, I was amused by the adolescent sense of drama

Irony alert Russell. I thought that was clear enough from the tone of CK posts and my own comment, obviously not.

Adolescence is spending hours crafting posts, emails and comments pursuing pointless irrelevance. "Fuck Off" would have been a response but would simply have lead to the same pointless theorising.

I have not the slightest interest in your or Gotcha's legal structure, so crack on with the bat shit crazy The Standard standard of finding conspiracy where there is none.

Keith - Do you really have nothing better to do??? Really? How about putting your skills to use pursuing a submission on tax or posting on public intellectuals at KiwiPolitico [really interesting post and thread there on that subject] or something a little more substantive.

I beg to differ - that response wouldn't have entirely cut off the flow of speculation, but it would have given much less fuel to 'theorisers' and made the whole thing a lot less interesting.

Thankfully the persons concerned are convinced that their blogwar on the left really is Serious Business, and will thus keep on providing amusement for many Friday afternoons into the future.
