  • Paul Campbell,

    He continued denying the facts
but I wonder 'bout other impacts
    'cause if he didn't know
    from where came the dough
how did he pay income tax

  • Craig Ranapia,

Well, there's this oldie but goodie:

Oh, what a tangled web we weave,
When first we practice to deceive!
But when you've practised for a while,
    How vastly doth your style.

    :)

  • Don Christie,

    He practiced
    What he preached,
    Constant denial

  • Sam F,

I see from this morning's paper that Winston Peters has once again blossomed into his triennial fingerpointing over gangs, immigration and multiculturalism.

And here was me somehow wondering in my heart if it was really an election year after all: no more. All is right with the world, in a predictable soul-destroying kinda way.

  • Michael Stevens,

He's like an oil slick on the water - superficially pretty, shiny, attractive, but then you realise he's smothiering all life below and when you try and pin him down he just slips through your fingers...

  • Idiot Savant,

It seems the high horse has become a bad horse. With an evil death whinny and a chorus of beer-drinking cowboys.

  • Sara Bee,

Did anyone else observe the moment on Morning Report today, where W Peters, cornered, almost began to squeak... I'm not sure I've ever heard it before. Satisfying and excruciating, all at once.

  • Steve Barnes,

David Slack channels E.J.Thribb (17 1/2) I never thought I'd live to see the day ;-)
Shall I be the one that stands up for Winnie? He has always made me think of an 8 year old as a lawyer with his pedantic use of the disingenuous. Kinda cute, kinda funny, kinda needs a slap upside the head.

Steve! Slapping kids upside the head is not OK, and if you tried it on Winston you'd break your wrist on the solid mass of bone. :) But I get where you're coming from -- the combination of Jesuitical semantics, outright psychosis, and feral aggression is creepy-cool.

You really think Winston can be compared to the Thoroughbred of Sin? I suppose he does rule the party with an iron hoof.

  • Juha Saarinen,

David has written several Thribbing pieces in the past.

Lines on the Death of Chairman Mao

    So.
    Farewell then
    Chairman Mao.

    You are the
    Last of the
    Great revolutionary

    Figures. You
    And I
    Had little in
    Common

    Except that
    Like me
    You were a poet.

    Though how you
    Found time
    To write poems

    In addition to
    Running a
    Country of
    800 million people

    Is baffling
    Frankly.

That one wasn't by David though.
