A measure is how we treat the less fortunate - we are horrible and the only way is up once this lot wreck all the goodwill and slump off back to their opposition benches and the healing begins.

Can we say that, these remarkable and commendable efforts notwithstanding, the charge that people who were against tax cuts and yet don't voluntarily overpay are somewhat hypocritical, is supremely idiotic?
No no no Gio. That's not stupid.
I'd happily give back my tax cut.
But to be fair, I want free doctors visits for my children and I, and no fees when my son arrives at university in return. If Craig could arrange that, we'll have a deal.

Well, it's kinda weird anyway. Why peg what you consider to be the right amount of tax to pay on what it was just before this government dropped the tax-rate? Why not peg it to some time in the past - 1975 for instance?

s77 of the Ed. Act may say one thing, but the reality of the 1970s & 80s was that we used King James Bibles in my seemingly secular primary school, and had Christams plays, etc?
This was just what happened.

As far as I can see, the requirement in Article I for education to be free implies that parents have the right to choose *free* education for their children. So government has a duty under article III to fund schools providing any kind of education that there is a demand for (unless it conflicts with article 2), but schools providing such education may not charge parents directly.
Also, article 2 implies that certain faith-based schools should also be proscribed.
So that's my take: free education, ban faith based schools unless they promote equality of all faiths and none (so that's the Catholics out), ban charging for education.
