  • Span .,

Soccer ball signed by Rod Stewart? That's a bit random - what's the story behind that gem?

Also is there a reason for the asterisks on the flying Nun stuff?

Best wishes for tonight - I hope it goes swimmingly :-)

  • David Slack,

It is indeed that John Campbell. The timing's no problem apparently. He often gets his show presented by a double. I think it's the same guy who used to sub for Winston Churchill.

Don't know the significance of the asterisks, Span, sorry. Just some Flying Nun idiosyncracy perhaps. Also, the provenance of Rod's ball is unclear. Quoting from Gina's email:

Soccer Ball Signed by Rod Stewart
    Donated by: Sean Coleman
A soccer ball signed by Glenfield’s favourite ex-father-in-law Rod Stewart.
    Value: Priceless

  • andrew llewellyn,

I'll be watching then, to see if he sprints off backstage while the weather is presented.

  • Bart Janssen,

Ah thanks for the clarification David, I should have remembered the remarkable similarity between Winnie and JC.

Of course in this day I would have thought he'd have used some fancy new tech. If they can teleport a photon then John should be a breeze especially since I think hes lost weight lately hasn't he?

However I was thinking he might have tried cloning this being the century of biology and all.

  • ange wither,

Having seen The Fly (help me) he'd have to be careful that something wasn't teleported with him, like say, a small cuddly toy. Hmmm, come to think of it...

  • Robyn Gallagher,

How does John Campbell get there by 7.30?

Well, back when Cambo was doing the news, I finished work at 7pm and walked from approximately the Sky Tower to Foodtown Quay Street. When I got to the bread aisle at about 7.15, there was Mr Marvellous pushing his trolley.

My, it's very quiet here today. Everyone up late?

But why did I think it was a good idea to go and play table tennis at Sheryl Morris's place at 1am?
