I love the word ‘munted’ and have used a great deal through out my life. I had no idea until today that it had any special significance to this year.
Did anyone else notice ‘nek minute’ in the Dom Post weather strip (at the bottom of A1) about two weeks ago; “Sunny morning – nek minit; cloudy with a chance of rain”. That’s ridonculous.

Gah. Thanks guys.Russell, I believe you accurately repeated what Parker was reported to have said – I too wondered , and searched , and could only find main sewer truck and this comment by a Paul Stockley about the ethics of correcting quotes:
Example 1:
A reporter mistook a technical term ‘trunk’ (meaning main route) as ‘truck’, and this error was published. Correct it thus when quoting[*]:
"Our main sewer [trunk] is seriously munted … I believe that is the technical term."But, then again, I wouldn’t put it past Bob, our ‘Great Communicator’, to have got it wrong in the heat of the moment…

He actually seems to have been reported to have said "trunk", "trunks" and "truck".
Clearly, Bob's diction has slipped since his TV days.

Munted is a great word, but it sure sounds odd when it's repeated by a squeaky toddler voice from the back seat of the car, after you've just observed the results of an accident.
