And that's also what I like about PA System - occasionally someone truly legendary comes along and joins in.
__Occasionally?__
I'm here almost every other day! -
But you use a pseudonym so you are, by definition, obscure ...

Tracey was a magical woman @ G.H.S. Great Swimmer. Her parents owned a magical mystery garden forest and home called Sundrum. Chris Sheehan wrote all the weirdly bizarre 1950's doo-wop chords. I wrote the repetitive verse. In fact apart from some Trance/Hippity Hoppity Mix stuff..def the mos' rep verse that i writ (sic). Where be thee Tracey ? Search @ your own lost Teardrop Reward..xoxooj
My life is, it seems, now complete.

OMG! The legendary Sheryl Morris posted!
-
Really Heather you should know not to repeat stories you know absolutely nothing about. It just makes you and the rest of us look really stupid.
I don't quite see how that follows. I just thought it was a cool story. Is it a fabrication?
-
Are there many other places in the world where you could freely interact and have discourse with a legend?
yeah, quite a few, infact any country with a small population base really, but you'd have to interact with the legends of those particular countries.
malta would be an example. its so small you'd probably bump into said legends in the street, I know I did.
I'm sure it was pretty easy to bump into bjork pre solo career in iceland, -

Because you've pulled?
it makes you and us look stupid
As stupid as say, logging in for the first time purely to insult someone who's got a demonstrated history of articulate intelligence?

I talked to her at a party in London once. She was in the kitchen, wolfing down chocolate cake.

No, and Sheryl was unduly snappy. But it's probably a bit odd to see someone you don't know declare someone you do know to have been "drunk ever since".
-
OK, sorry, that was meant to be tongue-in-cheek.

I'm picturing this as her in some outlandish outfit eating the whole damn cake. It's an awesome image!

I don't think jordan's quite that easy, although he may correct me on that. I remember seeing jordan blag his way into a YFC show at the old mill in timaru with a table of 8 women,
and - nah, because I watch too many british tv comedy shows.
I think it was the fast show, can't remember, they all become a blur.
it was the guy says inappropriate thing at party and without even being asked to leave does so gag, classic, -

I saw black eyed peas fergy choke down 3 large slices of pav in the performers tent at BDO. I'm assuming there was some throat and finger action in the toilet soon after.
in her defense it was good pav. -

Those of us who have been members of online communities for years know about netiquette, about lurking and getting the feel of the community before jumping in and posting.
But there are always going to be people for whom it's a new experience, and they'll dive in without knowing context or the personalities involved.
On PA System, we can give people information about ourselves via the website link option, but that's about it. You can kind of do a stalkery search on Google, but I'd really like the ability to be able to check out all the posts a user has made (or perhaps just all the discussions they've been involved with). And that would be useful for helping newcomers figure out who's who.

De nada.

Well you can already do that by popping their name in search.....but I wouldn't want to make it any more comprehensive than it is because that would be kind of exposing. If you search someone you get a selection of what they have posted, not necessarily in chronological order and not everything. Again, I like that. It gives you a feel without enabling lazy stalkers.
(By search I mean within Public Address System) -

On the subject of celebrity encounters, a friend and I once walked into a nearly empty greasy spoon cafe in Notting Hill for a late morning hangover cure, and seeing, hunched in the corner, Van Morrison chowing into his bacon and eggs (fingerless gloves and all). We were so excited we immediately said hi, and he barely glanced up as he grunted 'F**k off' at us. We were so proud.

My brother used to live in Piha. He was walking home from a party one New Year's Eve and got hungry. Seeing as he was passing another party, he wandered in, went into the kitchen, and started making himself a snack.
And! Neil Finn! Neil Finn walked in and said "Who are you and what the fuck are you doing in my fridge?"
Brilliant.

Oh, and congratulations to Jordan Luck.
I'm certainly not qualified to comment on who else could/should be nominated, but Mr Luck provided the sound-track to one of my more memorable orientation weeks, and for that I will always be in his debt :)

Nick Hornby mumbled 'f#@k off' to me in a London pub when I told him I loved Fever Pitch but was a Spurs fan. His wife was lovely, though.

Nobody likes a smartarse. But seriously. No, that's it. Nobody likes a smartarse. ;)
As for celebrity encounters, mine are either all local except for the time when I got Tiny Tim's autograph. -
It gives you a feel without enabling lazy stalkers.
Because we only want to enable truly committed stalkers?
-
If people want to stalk they should show some commitment ; )

I'm almost too scared to ask as I have such a picture in my head of her, but what of Victoria?
Best memory of one of your songs was in Munich Oktober Fest & a sea of Canty Rugby shirts singing "Christchurch & Cashel St" - soon followed by a micky finn from the barmaid & loss of memeory (& yep I'm without doubt my beer was spiked).
