  • Kebabette,

    Excellence, Your Excellence!
Fonzi Thornton! I downloaded tracks purely on the basis of that name off Freegal (for Christchurch City Libraries members).

Pulp doco sounds wonderful, am such a fan. Even have Jarvis's book of lyrics.

Made in Sheffield doco is well worth a watch too.

the glitterbox soundcloud has a bunch of solid as mixes for streaming - unfortunately not for DL, check the Horse Meat Disco for glitterball greatness

  • Chris Waugh,

Well, that was interesting. I was listening to that American French Fries song when the NZ Herald's video of Gerry Brownlee answering journos' questions starting autoplaying in a tab I wasn't looking at, and I didn't realise it wasn't part of the song until I heard something like "So why did you offer to quit?" "Because I put him in an uncomfortable position." For once autoplay wasn't mega-obnoxious.

  • Robyn Gallagher,

Last night my Twitter feed was full grainy pics of a giant beardy face hovering over the Civic audience.

  • Gareth Ward,

A terrific remix of 'Tennis Court' that has "feelgood anthem" written all over it.

First listen to this yesterday left me a little cold - high expectations perhaps. Or perhaps because Flume's remix was so outstanding? Growing slightly on me though...

And yep, Glitterbox's Soundcloud account has been a great source over the last month, the Greg Wilson mixes in particular.

Fair enough. I actually like it better than the Flume one.

It's pretty basic maths though - Horse Samples: Flume 1 - Diplo 0

I am guessing you've already found his SC account - DL mixes for days... the perfect summer wine outside music I reckon... or currently sitting beside heater cheer up tunes - I so want to do one of those croatia boat cruise extended parties they do in summer

I'm on the meh on diplo's remix, solid as it is - expected way too much perhaps.... all a little underwhelming, which i guess is the point but I wanted madness

Since his set here a couple of years back. So good...

Yeah, but imo madness would've been obvious. I like that it's tuneful.

  • MxDEJ,

The Grafix Knox book looks like a great project, and $60 to pre-order a copy (and help them get to their funding goal) is fantastic. I first saw the project a little while ago and at the rate funding's coming in, it might not get across the line. Where is everyone? Come on!

I cannot wait to see the Pulp film. I am amazed that Florian made it. Pretty excellent pairing of minds I think.
