  • Grant McDougall,

I saw the Go-betweens just after 16 Lovers Lane came out in early '89 when they headlined Orientation; they were superb.

  • Simon Bennett,

I've had the same experience as your son. Apple Music is working seamlessly for me across Mac, iPhone and iPad. I do have an iTunes Match subscription.

I'm really enjoying the 'For You' section with it's curated playlists and music selections. I like the service so much that I have unsubscribed from Spotify and TIDAL.

Now Apple just need to offer the option of higher resolution streaming, and I'll be very happy.

  • Shaun Lott,

duplicating and even triplicating some of them

In my experience, that seems to be standard iCould (mis)behaviour with lots of data items. Annoying enough for me to avoid so far.

  • George Darroch,

That's a really good doco, I saw it a couple of years ago, about the time I moved to Brisbane. It changed my appreciation for the city and the state. A true classic of Australian pop, mostly overlooked in a time of INXS and Kylie.

All due deference to your headlining DJ skills, : ), the CTRL + ALT + DANCE line up is pretty stonking. Harry the Bastard has some nostalgia appeal for the old folks!

  • Shaun Lott,

Meanwhile, I’m still finding odd bugs – turning on the Beats1 radio station instatly disables AirPlay in iTunes, to the point of making the AirPlay icon disappear from the menu bar, although AirPlay can still be anbled at system level. (If you have been using Home Sharing to access your desktop library from other devices in the home, that’s gone for everyone – except via Apple TV.) Fuck knows, basically.

Pretty sure I read that neither of these things are bugs. Beats1 is not allowed to go via AirPlay by design… Home Sharing is gone for now, but allegedly it will be back like Arnie in iOS9.

    Oh, of course!

Edit: Just had to check some details and have now updated the post. Harry and I will be holding down an old-school house music room at Whammy, under the Housequake! banner. Should be good fun.

  • Russell Brown,

Just heard of the passing of Frank Stenjees, formerly of The Androidss. Lovely man, sad to see him go.

And RIP Chris Squire, bass player (and co-founder) of Yes for 47 years. Rated with the late Jon Entwhistle of the Who as the best British bass players to grace the rock stage. Some nice tributes on YouTube and elsewhere.

I count myself lucky to have seen Squire with the core of the "classic" Yes lineup at their Auckland concerts in 2012 and 2014.

  • James Keyworth,

Hi Russell. I spied you at the Ryan Adams show at the town hall the other night. I'd love to hear your take on it.
