  • Geoff Lealand,

A three-day weekend: hoping to be inspired to finish my book chapter in the surrounds of the Michael King House at Opoutere. One of the very best things my university has done--buying King's house and making it available to staff to rent, and write in.

Can I just point out not everyone gets a long weekend, and yes, I am quite bitter about it.

Channeling the impeccably named Lady Grantham Dowager Countess
of Down Town Alley, or a 24/7 at the coal face reference?

  • recordari,

In a week during which I spend $60 on a rubber band for my turntable, I kind of wish there was a way to play some scratchy vinyl loveliness for the sufferers.

Real Groovy is celebrating 30 years over the weekend. Seems worth getting out there to see some of the bands playing, or trade some records. Chris Hart on bFM this morning seemed to have a few years left in him yet.

  • Aidan, in reply to recordari,

I friggin' love that song (Marsha). Always have since I bought It's bigger than both of us as one of those fugly double tapes. Has a great space about it and a really catchy guitar line. How YOUNG AND SKINNY is Don MacGlashan! Heh.

Wrt to that triple backflip. WTF!? I've seen it half a dozen times now and it still gives me the heebees. Every time I think "what if he doesn't make it and crashes into that ramp!?!". Could they have made that any MORE unsafe in case of an accident?

It's *so* far down from the top of that ramp. Just love how casually he pulls off the landing.
