  • Heather Gaye, in reply to Islander,

    Nah, his ars-
    enal of recordings?

That made me laugh more than is really dignified.

Hm whisky. I wonder what a PA whisky would taste like?

Ben says that it would be perfectly viable to buy, bottle & brand a barrel from a smaller distillery. Research trip?

  • Heather Gaye,

...also Ben suggests a PA-brand tracksuit in the colour of the hard news masthead, but that's only because he's been watching too much Sopranos recently.

PS: ref Ben McNicoll, he's too busy cooking me beef stroganoff to post himself.

  • Paul Dowden,

Can't send a koha right now (netbank from o/s playing up and PayPal grates). Definitely will though: it's like paying to not read Stuff :-)

I'd also love a mug, espresso cup and some tumblers...

If there was an annual PA telethon I reckon Russel, David, Graeme and Craig'd just need to threaten to post a whistling tummies* film of their own if we don't pay up.

I’m sure Oamaru would love to get involved!

Research trip to the South! How many PASers can you fit on your couch?

  • Islander,

    O, about 50?

(That is including neighbours & other hosteleries…)

BUT – Oamaru is the other side of the hill, where I have a huge number of whanau-
that’d be the goer- remember Heartland chips? Possibly, a Southern Blend??

Re: drunk Aucklanders? Dunno. How many rilly drunk West Coasters -OR Southerners! - does it take to drive everyone away!

  • Rebecca Williams,

it's a measure of how valuable i think public address is that i went to find my wallet without even a second thought. in fact i consider it a revolutionary act (kind of) to support public address in any way, given the generally piss poor state of the media in this country.

thanks for public address russell and colleagues. it's awesome.

Sure, but the circuitous route down the west coast incorporates less Timaru and more Islander.

Touché! I reckon we'll all get along just fine.

A latte glass with nice etched logo would serve both purposes. Of course we could just buy our own:).

Try the bank account number- secure, and worked perfectly well for me-

(and totally agree apropos Paypal- tried it once, and then cancelled every detail they had on me.)

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Don't test the limits of what I'll do for money. It will be a long, traumatic and hideously expensive night with ongoing consequences.

That could suit him quite well, actually

  • Sacha, in reply to Heather Gaye,

Been suggesting that one for a while.

Not to substitute for what would be an uber-special Big O event, but a PA/Whisky Galore tasting in a few cities might be a goer (and support a great Chch business at the same time). Sell whisky glasses and suchlike too.

  • Sacha,

On the topic of contribution and community, I've just got in from the official launch of the Be.Accessible initiative and I wanted to let you guys know about it.

Minister Turia brought tears to my eyes by dedicating in the upcoming Budget an extra $4m over the next 4 years for this. So proud to see it - pic by Deaf leader Peter Fogarty of the announcement. Lucky bugger had Sign interpreters to follow but the acoustics in Auckland Museum's lofty foyer were diabolical for the rest of us. Turia's speech here.

This is something that can profoundly shift the way the world looks at disabled people's contributions (as Trustee and MFAT CEO John Allen passionately conveyed in his speech). Been a decade of hard work by many to get there. Will sleep happy.

using Hadyns beer based economy (how we students mesure our budgets) this poor student cant afford a ponsonby beer but has gladly contributed a couple of cheap generic beers from the supermarket. Cheers russell
