  • Barnaby Nicholls,

Thanks for all your work, mate - I've been a more-than-weekly reader of this website since the early days of Media7, but only just recently joined so I could comment as well. It doesn't take long looking around the web to realise that the culture here is special. I imagine any budding sociologist would generally find reading the comments below the line a depressing experience - but it's always a pleasure on Public Address.

  • Luke Williamson,

Modest deposit made, as per my current means. I would happily contribute again to keep you on air Russell. You are a shining light in a sometimes bleak media world.

  • Stephen R,

I loathe and despise paying by bank account unless there's no other choice. The bank doesn't need to know what I spend my money on.

The look on Kieth Ng's face when a complete stranger handed him some folded cash was satisfying (and the lady sitting next to him went, "Oh, I've been meaning to do that" and handed him some more).

But it's been a while since I saw you in the flesh, so that's less of a plan.

    Contribution away.

Russel, have you considered approaching Radio NZ's Youth Online team? They might be interested in something along the lines of Media 3.

Done. Shame Media3 would be too costly to crowdsource.

Patreon.com might be exactly what you're after. Subscription-based support of content creators. I’ve emailed you some details.

  • tony j ricketts,

all the best, Russell, you are a treasure. Meanwhile, could everyone also consider joining/supporting a political party, and/or discussing politics positively and widely, so that next year's General Election can be a wholehearted collective expression of where we want this country to go.

  • Mark Thomas,

Glad to donate again Russell. But I'd be keen to find a way to provide more regular contributions, maybe along the lines of a subscription to read past the first two paragraphs of an article and to and read/contribute to the forums. Or a one-click "donate/like" facebook style button. I don't know. What I do know is that you have strong support from the PA readership to come up with something new and lasting.

Done, with pleasure. I may not have time to post these days, but I read when I get a minute, and you (all of you) do an important thing by discussing everything here! Looking forward to the film on Jimmy too.

    alms for chillin'...

A beverage sponsor would be ideal...

Perhaps it need not be just one big sponsor, but rotating 'guest sponsors' - seasonally, monthly, weekly, or by-blogly(?) or somesuch...
Not flush, myself - but maybe I'll auction a poster on your behalf (that Great Unwashed 'Bambi' one went for a much needed $250!!)
or a copy of the 'Fall in a Hole" vinyl, or a Double Happys 45...
    I'll think on it...

Done ("and you 'ave been"). Always happy to help as I enjoy your informed and useful views on the world. Happy to move to a regularised (is that a word?) set up with payments to see PA.

  • Robyn Gallagher,

Donating to support PA feels good!

I'm very excited about foody posts. I've been doing a lot of cooking in the past year or so (when previously I did not cook) so I'm well into it as a topic of interest. Hurry up and get that food blog happening!

  • Robert Harvey,

Done. I have to thank you Russell, both for informing me over the many years since I first followed your thinking on bFM's Hard News, and later through Public Address, whose raft of bloggers keeps me from becoming too much of an old fool, which would otherwise be the case. May blessings pour on you and the other bloggers.

The CentUp model is pretty interesting too. Though when I tried to start a balance it was discovered they don't support non-US credit cards yet!

Wouldn't it be great though, having an online version of it within the frame?

Anyway, I get great reward out of my involvement with the community here-in, so happy to use this as a chance to give a little back.

    Cheers Russell.
