    More city lights.

We’ve been trying a little time travel up here – here’s my wee one doing her best 1930s International Settlement.

    Lovely photo Chris. Great colours.

Completely transformed. I thought it was a portrait of Godzilla.

There weren’t any puddles this morning, but I did manage to find a reflection.

And while it doesn’t look particularly wintery there was definitely a chill in the air.

Edit: Argh. Not sure how I've managed to rotate the photo...

Good shot, Michael. I like it sitting sideways like that.

  • Michael Bodle,

    Thanks.

Yeah sideways does seem to work.

    Through a glass, muddily.

Funny, this big, new apartment complex seems to be well inhabited, but the shops along the southern side have never been inhabited, let alone abandoned. The complex reflected, though, has a well-established community and lively commerce - and my favourite teahouse, not that I've had time to get there for, ummm... ages.

Now, help? I actually managed to do something in GIMP, which was to mirror that image, but I can only save it in a .xcf format? Can I even post such a format here? Can I change it into something more "normal"? I'm struggling to figure that out... Any advice? Oh, wait, success with IrfanView! Achieved two things in one afternoon!

  • Ian Dalziel,

an aside, Waste Land at 8.30pm on Maori TV tonight (Tuesday June 25) will, I think, appeal to regular Capture visitors and many others...

Hi Ian, yes I saw (most of) that a while back. I found it extraordinary, appalling and awe-inspiring all at the same time !!!

I couldn't get through on your link but feel sure you are referring to this: Wasteland movie

Great shot. How we appear an disappear is sometimes good luck but often good management.

  • Leigh Russell, in reply to Gudrun Gisela,

Hi Gudrun, I take it your comment is about the outline of me above the anemones. You are quite right - and that one was a mixture of both. I had to create my own shadow in order to get a clear image of the little creatures - and just happened to include my silhouette!

I'm loving these reflections and upside downs and mirroreds... it really plays with your perception and gets you looking out at the world in other ways.

#1 looking at it I feel like I'm under the surface of the puddle.

#2 Military recruitment slogan, flipped and therefore mirrored, and puddled and road markinged.

I like the added distortion you get from road markings

Really? Looks more like it’s under fire from a million laser ray guns.

And the Sky tower returns fire!! This shot does actually have substantial reflection in it, too.
