For $8 and a lovely cafe indoor and outdoor that welcomes dogs, this is one of the most quiet, tranquil 5.5 acres in inner city Mt Eden. It has paths that climb up the side of the Hill and many possibilities to honour friends like buying trees and plaques and scattering ashes etc. Easy parking and not busy. It was a needed visit today. A place of rejuvenation. Exquisite plants and chickens!

Ever the observant Joe. I saw many today on my way there and they have some massive ones but Stella on a lead was pulling as I tried to photograph this one enormous plant and it came out shit. Thems the breaks.

Peonies–the most thrilling bloom, ever. Had one bloom on mine (ex Nelson) last summer; hoping for more this summer.
On the meantime, as close as we ever come to something resembling snow in the Waikato (under the flowering cherry). -

Not sure if you mean the pictures of the Nun and Chianti - these are roses, but have that lovely inward curving shapes that make them seem paeony like. Funnily enough I've just been to the florist and bought some paeonies.

Nice flowers, helped brighten up an otherwise less than ideal few days. There isn't much in the way of flowers here, but at least I'm in a season of cool skies.

Well, clear blue skies are kinda rare around these parts, despite 3 out of 4 seasons being bone dry. Couldn’t possibly think why…
But on a more positive, and very tangentially more spring-like note, girl with cloth book on her head - a new take on the joys of reading.
