On the riverbank
the light of last night's ~full moon
is overpowered by a sponsoring electricty company's floodlights, on a fresh paint-job on an old building off-stage.
The ducks basking on the point at left are confused by night and day? -

Like a ball on the wire

Not on the riverbank, not the doorstep, but midway between, camera on top of a solid post in lieu of tripod - mainly by moonlight in the early hours this morning.
With striking band lit by the new floodlights where not screened by intervening trees.
Stitched 90 degree panorama, lowish tide rising on the Taruheru. Today the floodlights were redirected as downlights on the building they are to light rather than lighting the entire neighbourhood - I'm pleased. And I'm pleased that for no obvious reason I woke at 2.30am and decided to check out the moonlight, then photographed this scene on what was its last night.

On reflection,On further reflection, I noticed the Man in the Moon seemed notable in the reflection. Here's the direct view of the moon.
And then an enlargement of the reflection, inverted.
Indeed - there seems to have been some image enhancement. -

Great photo. It would look especially so as a big print framed I reckon. It seems to be pushing out against the edges and corners, but in different manners all around the hypothetical frame. But the title?
Wood grain.

last night 8.30ish, just a day after full moon and just after high tide, the moon is competing more evenly with the redirected floodlighting than two nights before.Bear with me, I decided to focus on the reflected moon again, with exposure times much less than these 30 secs –

The water surface sliding by smoothly enough for minimal distortion, some of the time.
A bit more distorted.
And a bit more.

And there was some moon-dancing, but it’s hard to capture at 1/125th
Enough for an impressionistic impression.

And quieter here, not so much the face of the man in the moon, as an image of a sentient being?
(Or muppet.) -
Then KaPow! – what happened to the moon?
It’s image spread thinly and scattered by ripples from a burst of bubbles off stage.A few seconds later, back again, calm is restored.
Then again the moon is spread like warm butter, or the spilt milky way.

The bubbles show themselves more directly, a simultaneous double strike on the moon’s image.
Later, a light bulb turns on
(in my sentient head). What about a little rotation and adjustment to the aspect ratio? -
Anyone out there? Any messages?
Yet it’s only reflected moonbeams!
