  • Field Theory: Not Watered Down,

It can be hard to find a hat that isn't shit. I'm not surprised people wear things that they don't actually endorse.

In part I agree. What if your favourite band or sports team just has shit apparel?

But couldn't you just buy a blank hat then? And make your own fan apparel if you really needed to show team spirit?

  • Field Theory: Not Watered Down,

I have long since given up on assuming that anyone wearing the hat or shirt of an American team is, in fact, a fan of said team. It is vaguely annoying.

I don't care about sport, but I do care about music, even when it's music I don't like, so I was really angry when a friend was wearing a KISS tshirt and couldn't even name two songs by them and was all "I just like the print". My head exploded. Then I got down off my high horse and tried to focus on ponies...

  • Field Theory: Not Watered Down,

In thatHumvee? Dance on your knees? No, not dance.

But it is the sort of place in which you could "tuck your baguette into your jacket" though? Awesome. Kerry, please build us some more roads so we can get some more humvees up in here.

there was no way a beer with a pun for a name could be bad.

I think it's pretty much the opposite for wine. And also hairdressers.

Jed's photos are awesome, but I feel that if you had wanted to be a real gonzo journalist, you would have either got into a fight or into the mud or both yourself. 7.5/10

Oh and also, can one stand up inside that humvee? Or does one have to dance on one's knees?

  • Field Theory: Cricket isn't Rock,

It would be great if one existed, because I have an ongoing curiosity about Paula Abdul's* obvious prescription drug addiction. I'd really love to know exactly what she takes and in what quantities.

Danielle, there was a great quote from her on Jezebel today about how she's just had back surgery and is no longer in pain, and reflecting on her more umm less-coherant moments on Idol. I'd look, but the site is blocked here at work because it's obviously PORN with all the talk about RAPE and BREASTS. Oh IT, why must you hate feminism so much?

    1. When I used to belong to a busy all-female gym, I never paid attention to anyone while I was working out, unless they were on the cross-trainer right next to me and were going at a different speed, in which case I would be inclined to speed up to match them. There was, however, a woman I would see in the changing rooms frequently who I called Vagina Woman, because she would walk around in her shoes and top and NO PANTS and would talk to people a lot. I always thought that was strange. I mean, if you want to let yourself air, wouldn't you do it at home?

    2. Now I (in theory more than practice anyway) go to the small gym in my building,I notice guys working out there quit a bit - not because they are hot or not-hot (actually, they are all not-hot, because they're public servants after all), but because they are jerking their weights around all quickly, and I'm sure that's not healthy. Isn't slow and steady the better way to do it? I mean, I don't pretend to be any kind of healthy person or expert exerciser or anything, but it just looks so wrong and so dangerous.

Why shrink (fnaar!) from spelling it out? I'm guessing: making unwelcome sexual advances, taking a long lingering look around the changing room, taking snapshots and, perhaps, if you're not too tired after all that Pilates, having sex

I learnt from Heather Champ in the communities workshop at Webstock that posting specific rules can be much more troublesome than posting vague ones, because people will deliberately try to get as close to breaking the rules as possible. So perhaps there would be sexual advances they thought would be welcome, many short looks, easels for painting of naked people, and different interpretations of what "sex" constitutes.

That's not a bad skill given that they apparently have their eyes closed.

In this day and age, surely everyone can touch-type?

(Apparently the speed at which I can type while not looking at the screen at all is kind of frightening to some)
