  • OnPoint: Being a dick about Earth Hour,

Garth George claimed in his Herald column to have been making plans to stockpile the old bulbs.

I like to imagine that pile is in the same basement as his stockpile of BZP.

it means a scene which is cut so that it is clearly implied that two of the characters had sex, even though you didn't see them do it.

So any of the episodes of the early X Files, cos Mulder and Scully were like, totally doing it? And the same with Ali and Marcus on Newsnight ?

  • Stories: Hotels,

When I stayed at the Quest Ponsonby, I slept with the window open, after getting very very drunk and woke up going "Oh fuck, who's in bed with me?" because I could hear people talking - but it turned out it was just noise from the cafe in the courtyard.

The crappiest hotel I've stayed at in Auckland was the Copthorne Harbourview - expensive, terrible service and really run-down rooms, and I love the Quadrant because you can watch television from the toilet and their hot tub is perfect for after gigs when your feet are all in pain.

I really liked the Museum Hotel in Wellington too, although I was drunk the whole time I was there, so I don't know if I can give it a proper review.

When did Moby start doing card tricks?

  • Cracker: Post St Patrick's Day Blues,

Of course, wearing it with matching trousers and a tie makes one look as if one were Roger Stirling heading off for a three-Martini lunch: but I'd much rather that than look like I was heading off to a team meeting at Wernham Hogg,

Tom, we addressed this issue in Emma's comments and concluded that dressing like Roger Sterling was a fine thing, and wearing a tie facilitates Joan Holloway-types literally pulling you off to lead you astray.

As to this whole plus size thing, oh, I'm too drunk to care much. Except to say that I hate that the exchange rate is so bung, because at least torrid.com acknowledges that you can be fat and also like to display your curves.

  • Up Front: Boning Up,

Yes, I did wonder if that were the case, but I thought maybe I was the only person that far in the gutter.

I quote myself here: "heh heh I said 'boning' "

  • Up Front: Boning Up,

I find women look way more interesting in some clothing than naked. There's less allure once its all revealed.

Corsets take ages to put on, AND ages to take off...

  • Up Front: Boning Up,

I've never had a proper steeled corset, just the (not-so) cheap ones with plastic boning (heh heh, I said boning) and while they're a bit odd to wear for the first half hour or so, and I spend half my time looking down and going "hehe, boobs are awesome", I think they're kind of almost sensual to wear, in that you are totally aware that you're wearing one and of the way it's encircling you. Same thing with like 5-inch belts if you're going for the What Would Joan Holloway Wear? look.

But then again, to me the idea of wearing impractical shoes is totally repugnant, so each to their own. I'm just glad there's finally a PA post that I can comment on topic for!

  • Up Front: Boning Up,

Oh my god, I lust for all of these so much.

Corsets are awesome, but yes, putting shoes on can be problematic in them. That's when I guess one should use one's womanly powers to get others to put them on for you...

And back to the clothing talk, my biggest omgwtf with athletics merch - since I was at an American school and most of the wearers were actually from the places they wore the stuff of - were the singlets for the '92 Olympics US basketball "Dream Team" because I still thought then that the Olympics was for non-professionals.
