Re Pundit - excellent response today by Nicky Hagar to the 'stolen emails' Brash-led media beat-up.
-
It annoys me that on the scoop website featuring PA, Pundit and Kiwiblog, that KB is the default option, listed first and always open.

Must be a multi-lane cycle tunnel under the Ngaio and Wilton part of the route then to save the enclaves of state houses. I expect the tunnel emerges in the middle of Karori cemetery?

Somebody may have mentioned this but there is some great real time blogging from the House going on by the Labour MPs on their new red alert blog. Phil Twyford has just blogged about the potential privatisation of Auckland's assets as a result of this legislation.
-
Besides, only hippies and weirdos cycle to work, whereas Great Rides will be ridden by tourists, with their lovely overseas currency..
Key on 3 News just confirmed they had access to rail corridors through Ontrack to build the cycleways in - so no possibility now that we could actually develop a good rail network for the trainspotter tourists (or even locals)

The Minister can appoint anyone they wish, achieve any composition they desire, and there's not even a requirement for a token lay person or iwi rep.
Let's guess - what former Act MPs or friends of the right have a bit of spare time and no expertise in governance transition planning? What about Owen McShane now he's got his road wish, that man from the Newmarket Business Assn who is always on TV when Hide-friendly comments are required, and Muriel Newman for gender balance and suggestions on how the citizens of Auckland can live on the smell of an oily rag from traffic congestion. And there's always Don Brash or Michelle Boag.

And more on Foreign Affairs issues from Pundit this morning about NZ losing a chance at a seat on the UN Human Rights Council and Simon Power redefining human rights.
And more indication that we are in weird times Pansy Wong wants the Ministry of Women's Affairs to be more inclusive of men.

Sacha and Sofie - I have a temporary baker-in-residence. Not my forte at all - I just appreciate the results.
-
Sorry Sofie - the point about gems is that they have to be warm out of the oven, so the butter melts just a little, accompanied by the gingery bakey smell in the house. Doesn't transport.

Re evaluation of useful PA advice.
Feijoas (supermarket quality) - $2.99 and $2.49 per kg at Waitangi market this morning - so now we have enough for a while.
Gems (ginger) - Ruth Pretty and Aunt Daisy recipes produce quite different results although both delicious esp warm from oven. Ruth Pretty's were more like gingerbread and darker (more golden syrup) and Aunt Daisy's paler and more sponge like (and some confusion re conversion for metric generation).
