Back to the US for a moment - if you want to truly terrify yourself listen to History hit interviewing Laurence Rees about the conditions and state of pre-war Germany.
Essentially talking to Germans of that era they voted for a completely inexperienced extremely radical leader because he wasn't a politician. Everyone expected his extreme rhetoric to be tempered once he gained power ...
There, I've Godwin'd the thread good and proper

they anticipate a libertarian utopia
What they anticipate and what they get are unlikely to be the same.

I get the feeling that there is a group of Trump supporters who know full well his actions are going to do tremendous damage - but because they initially backed him (for any number of insane reasons) they now cannot change their position.
It's an inability to accept being wrong.
So they seize any semblance of positive no matter how ludicrous.
To some degree I don't mind those folks who really believe Trump is doing good, they're wrong but at least they are honest.
It's the Republicans who recognise the harm he's doing but are willing to allow it in order to further their own agenda that really disgust me.
And then there are the ones who actually seem to want Trump to destroy everything, they know he's a screw up and a disaster and that's what they like. Presumably because they believe the post-apocalypse will be fun.

I was always taught to finish to “finish” the omelet under a grill. melting the cheese(s) and grilling the optional ingrediants for the omelet.
I think that last bit of cooking of the top allows you to slide the omelet out of the pan onto the plate … when the omelet is half out of the pan and half on the plate you tilt the pan further and use the pan to fold the omelet in half … all pretty like.
Also Russell is right that metal fork is scaring me too :).

Can we talk more about bikes. Cause I'm really enjoying riding more in Auckland this summer. And other stuff is just too awful.
Suggestions for bike paths/rides?
Toys to add to our bikes?

Is one of you on an e-bike and the other not?
Yup. I'm on my Trek road bike, 100% doughnut powered. My partner on the Avanti E inc. We're pretty well matched at the moment but I suspect as her fitness increases I am going to get pushed quite hard to keep up on hills - but that's good for me :).

I think this is sort of how cycling purists see e-bikers. It’s not really a bike.
Maybe there are some twatcocks who view it that way but most cyclists totally get the value of e-bikes to the cycling community. Essentially the e-bike means my partner and I can ride together and both get roughly the same exercise. Together we now have roughly the same range which means we can see more and enjoy more on our bikes.
That's true for a lot of people - the net result is more happy cyclists on the road which is good for the "purists" too - and they know it.

Someone stealing an eBike has the problem of sourcing a compatible charger.
The bike shops are aware of this and are very suspicious of anyone coming in wanting to buy a charger.

My bike still has its registration required by UC Davis police. They wanted bikes registered so it was easier to return stolen bikes to their owners.
