Must say, I've been - at every opportunity - vastly underwhelmed by Shearer's communication ability so far.
Check out Key's RNZ Christmas message:

Now compare Shearer's RNZ Christmas message:

I have no idea what cultural changes would ensue if we were functionally non-dying.

Happy that you've finally got some good news. Have thought about you guys often and worried about your situation. All the very best for the new year.

But I've bridged it to climate change and stuff. No one's gonna know, right?
Been reading Jim Hopkins again, huh?

Ian,
I'm laughing so much I got an asthma attack.
Also...
Thanks, Doug. -
me? get a popular culture reference?
Yeah. If we don't know you by now, we will never, never, never know you at all.

Turning on the radio to hear the Prime Minister again apparently not knowing what words mean was vaguely dispiriting this morning.
Speaking of words, what the hell is "cellarellerised"?

New Zealanders returned National yesterday because:
a) National is closing the wage-gap with Australia.
b) The "brain drain" has slowed under National.
c) New Zealanders may be generally against asset sales, but they can live with it, since 85-90% of the shares will remain in the hands of Kiwi mums and dads.
d) New Zealanders don't want to work an extra two years just to save the GST on bananas.Anyone seeing a pattern here?

It's looking like a very high "informal" (ie not counted) votes for part two of the referendum, showing - IMO - yet another badly designed referendum question.
Lovely shade of orange on those pens I thought...
Rather lighter than last time, I thought.
(P.S. Preview is kinda broken) -
This is my eighth election as a voter.
For the first time, I'm still undecided at this late stage.
