I'm loathe to bore you by turning this into a travel blog or a cat blog.
Well, maybe it's not your strength, but I certainly wouldn't be offended to hear your tales from the world.

And dear Robyn G. Don't scrunch your panties too much over Russell's column.
Oh, gross.
This sexist comment has exhausted the very last of my goodwill towards "Robin Draper".

I was pleased to read Russell's column in the latest Listener on our oily pal from Connecticut.

It was Mary who was immaculately conceived, so that she could be born without Sin.
Years ago, I corrected some guy in a newsgroup who was getting the immaculate conception and the virgin birth confused. He called me a pedant.
Well, I'm not even Catholic and I know what the immaculate conception is. But it surprises me the number of people who attempt to attack Christianity by saying stuff like "Jesus was immaculately conceived?!! As if!!!!"

What I consider unacceptable is the ‘wait ‘til your father gets home’ punishment, where the child has done something wrong and physical discipline is metered out in a cold, clinical manner.
I've always thought that punishment dished out at the scene of the crime is often a bit of stress relief for the parents. If they waited, say, 24 hours before giving the kid a smack, the anticipation would probably have made it worse for the kid, but by then the parent might end up feeling a bit guilty for smacking the kid once they've calmed down.
And delayed punishment is how the criminal justice system works, so it prepares kids for that. Um...

what are the chances of getting a "last posts" system going whereby if you click on a user's name you can see the last posts they've made?
I'd like that! It's somewhat torturous seeing "Posts: 103" next to someone's name, but not being able to check out exactly what those 103 posts are.

New York magazine recently had a very interesting article about the new generation of kidz on the net, and how they are rather uninhibited.
The story's intro goes:
As younger people reveal their private lives on the Internet, the older generation looks on with alarm and misapprehension not seen since the early days of rock and roll. The future belongs to the uninhibited.
The main conclusion is that criticism is oldies who are just jealous cos they never had all that cool stuff when they were kids.
But I think it's interesting that only last year, articles were coming out about how there was virtually no generation gap, that there were people in their 30s, 40s, 50s who were acting like teens.
Except now it's these same hipster parents who are getting freaked out about their teenage daughter posting provocative photos on her MySpace account.

How does TVNZ, or NZOA, justify putting taxpayer dollars into promoting a private business at the expense of other gay centred media?
For what it's worth, this isn't the first time that a private business has been the subject of a New Zealand reality TV show.

Or you could read NZ Idol slash instead...
Tragically it's a protected post, but here's a teaser for:
"Jesse," Steve(n) whispered, "are you awake?"
"What's up little buddy?" asked Jesse
"Jesse, you know that website that we're not allowed to read? Why do they call you a merkin? What's a merkin?"And there's also this scorcher inspired by the last week of series one:
"Hey, Ben," Michael again said.
"Yeah?" "I was looking at the tape of the rock show and I noticed... something," Michael cautiously began.
"Yeah, yeah, I hit that bum note. Shut up," Ben retorted.
"No, no. It wasn't that. It was... in your pants. I never realised how, uh, well hung you were." Ben was silent. "I mean, I know you have a great body, but I never realised just how great it was."
"Well," Ben finally replied, "why don't you come over here and check it out in person. What kind of people write this trash?!

Can I make a small plea for Mathew Ridge/Marc Ellis "slash" fiction? That is, if it hasn't been done already.
I wish it were possible to go back in time about five minutes and to have not read that sentence and to not have thought the things the sentence conjured up.
Anyone wanting a unicorn chaser to rid themselves of any mental images of hot M+M action, I recommend looking at Colin the kitten on YouTube. He is a cute n crazy kitty!
