I mean, is it me or has a dangerous precedent been set here ?
Precedent.....in the ....media? What? Where?
Nah, mate its you. -
the world is going to think we're insane
for holding a piss-up in winter on a windswept wharfThat made me laugh, (out loud) till I remembered the people upstairs and then Mr Reasonable bought me back to earth, gently, naturally.
No offence 'n all.
Just hope the fans get out and enjoy and no aggro.
(I should add of course 'cept on the field I guess that's what its all about)Wear a warm jacket, when that sun goes down it gets cold.
Attire....... Im a tragic. -
I find radio jocks to be like preachers, having to be all that all the time in saying the same shit to keep the faithful tuned in. The whole fakeness of being controversial or jovial all the time is just tiresome.
Now thats another problem altogether, and TV doesnt suffer from this Presenter fakeness?

oooh i can just hear the rumblings of discontent from the hardline pro-radio massive...Its not real Radio unless you tune it in on a dial :)
There are music channels on Sky & Freeview in digital stereo thru a good DAC Mmmmm
Tuning on a dial was an artform in WW2. -
try short wave - hours of fun
Especially on deserted islands.

My six year old wouldn't know what a radio was or how to turn it on and tune it but he can hook up the playstation by himself at 6.30 in the morning
There could be many reasons for that, that's right, the simplest things sometimes take the longest explanation. And then the quality of the observational discourse will definitely be variable.
But I'm sure you don wanna subject your kid to that. -
stong (albeit heavily mutated)
Shit has it started mutating already....
Phew... Im on a blog. But yes, what value would be lost? I have a friend whose stereo is tuned to ConcertFM. And the glorious or dark or haunting or weird strands of music that waft from the speakers during lulls in conversation is enough for me to not want music (principally) stations of any strip culled.
But those talkback/talkfest ones, are they a disease?
I cant work it out. -
The waterfront is generally accepted as a great aspect for viewing along with experiencing, walking, swimming etc.
If I was wanting to view, experience, walk or swim, Auckland's waterfront is the last place I'd be doing that.
Da Cake tin in Wellington is close to the water, well closeish, and it fits right in with those rail lines and streets.A stadium is inward looking
With a lovely patch of grass in the middle where people , erm, do stuff and others can sit and watch.
Some people say its an edifying experience, I wouldn't know. But all that inward looking might be a good thing.
OK I've tortured the analogy enough. There is a rising swell on the east coast I'm off to do some experiencing meself. -
I'm not the only one who says you should be wary of know-it-alls. Physicist Richard Feynman might have received the Nobel Prize for his work in quantum electrodynamics but he said he was never certain about anything, and reckoned progress came from a "satisfactory philosophy of ignorance".
Boy does she completely misunderstand what Feynmann means by that. And even what he is referring to. But hey, a physicist said it, and used the word "ignorance" so that means ignorance is A'ok.
Oh Deborah, poor poor dishevelled Deborah.
Will she regard me as a lower form of life, I'm just a commenter on a blog. Like lint on her dress, or chewing gum on the pavement.
My worship from afar seems futile, somehow.

What a shame Potter's life and work was neither calm nor dignified.
Was only talking about his end. I know of no one whose life is a dignified progression toward death.
it reeks of Potter's writhing disgust and hatred at his own body,
Yep got that.
human sexuality, and any woman who even tried to be more than than blow-up fuck-puppets in the theatre of his own sexual obsessions and dysfunction.
Gee, did I get that wrong. I thought he was taking the piss out of all those movies and books from the era in which he grew up. With hardboiled dicks and floosies. But I aver to your obviously greater grasp of the inner workings of the man.
