and a predator guarding my basil
I am 3rd day into nursing my very itchy wasp sting.
Ok, ok, I may have startled it , but had it not bit me, the lil’ mofo would still be alive!
I now have a hole in my middle finger (which, incidentally looks about to burst) :)Lots of great photos as usual guys. Not able to get to Lil’ lappy and really my photos are of a house so not worth contributing . I’ll leave that to the builder if he gets a chance.
This photo is an old one of a wasp that I had no problems with. I suspect it lives on. -

If you can bear it, Whaleoil has a quote from Prosser’s book that rather makes a nonsense of his belated apology.
Well, no I cant but I am pleased he is trying to figure himself out and is prepared to build bridges as this could actually be educational for all in NZFirst and those who support them in general.

I quite like this piece in the Herald this morn.

Not quite that simple.Your luggage can be searched and a harmless multi-tool removed.
I've had a nail file removed whilst in transit outta Brisbane to NZ. There was no choice to check it into luggage. and no choice to post it forward . It was ok though through Dubai and the UK and air planes are the perfect opportunity to get the nails manicured. I like that Emirates and Royal Brunei have metal cutlery although a plastic knife does well for inmates in prisons around the world. Go figure, on your way to disinfecting the feet or retina scans.
Without knowing Prosser's reason or wanting to give him attention, I suspect he got pissed off with not being trusted which is something that gets many peoples ire up and the consequence was his stoopid story. At least he is now reconsidering writing for that turd magazine because he has seen, or been educated as to the stupidity of his ways so that's a benefit of getting a bollocking from the man with the (plastic) hair. I've had a couple of drinks with him and his lady and he does care (alot) about his appearance and his lady agreed on this issue. Then again, she aint too shabby either.
News tonight, I think Prosser felt like an idiot. Very sheepish. I figure, if our Government gets away with half the rubbish it spouts, that's permission for the rest of them to be slack if we let them. I'm appalled after watching the Canterbury water anti democratic, autocratic bunch of liars again bill. I can see how others are getting slack. -

I'm sure the outpouring of grief is good for some just as it isn't for others. Just as it is being discussed right here right now. Perhaps the fact that Media is a global commodity now, and one can witness the outpouring of grief in many forms in different countries, perhaps we are experiencing a western interpretation of that? It has afterall been around for eva. I guess NZ now buys into all the hoopla that come with global awareness and reality TV is a good measure of how a person can become public property so in reality. peeps die publicly too. Only thing for me really is I don't like reality TV (although I am known to watch the odd bit of house porn which is designed to drag you into peoples lives) so like TV I guess its different strokes for different folks. I think i'll stick with watching house porn occassionally and celebrating life rather than the show of death. That can be in an own space for me for now. :)

I’m not sure why people care so much about Holmes,
I'm not sure either, but I think it may have someit to do with his well known status. NZ'ers used to be really good at basically ignoring well knowns, then.... everything changed and not for the better imo. I'm with you on the peeps die all the time etc

rightwing status quo…good riddance-
I know where you come from, and I can see that, at the same time I don't judge that he is any less than say the destiny church.
A friend who works at TVNZ was at work today whilst the bus hired, took crew to the funeral. She stayed at work and the only two occasions she encountered Holmes was in situations that were uncomfortable so although she was used to him, felt she didn't know him so his funeral was not her place to be.I watched news of the funeral, snippets I can edit but I saw a couple of guys that liked him as a mate which must be true for most peeps in the world so there's nowt so strange as folk eh? ;) -

and basically stay sharp for three hours, five days a week, forty-odd weeks a year.
Well actually most of us will manage 3 hours of our day sharp and probably for 48 weeks of the year if one is not self employed but in employment. I know a builder must remain sharp on the tools, truck drivers I know who get up at 1 am to drive up to 12 hours a day 7 days a week and must stay sharp and 48 weeks of the year. Surgeons, really need to stay sharp, perhaps not 48 weeks, lets say 40. Then nurses ,teachers, fishermen etc etc. So yeah, why on earth even a mention at Waitangi?
Having said that, I declare, never liked him. All the obits before he passed made me feel ill . Like he went to his own funeral and yes, creepy.
