Another interesting piece of information about my mother was that the local doctor who assisted at her birth in 1917 was Margaret Cruickshank, who then became her godmother. The committee (we) runs a maintenance programme which the council funds – repainting, repairs to nameplates, moss/lichen cleaning, etc. All tip-top at the moment.

By the way the beginning is actually two unrelated 3-line haiku – so imagine a space between them. My sister reminded me that the first one is about her.

Just to note – in her originals the poems, particularly the haiku, were mostly centred rather than justified left. Spaces also important as in the one on the Haiku Walkway.
