  • Sacha,

Just once I'd like to see some media coverage of the changes in divident payouts and stock prices along the same lines, and similar not so subtle pressure for restraint.

  • Sacha,

I mean even Brian Fallow is somewhat cynical about Roger Douglas's retreaded plans:

It sounds like the old game: privatise the gains, socialise the losses. That's pretty popular these days.

  • Stephen Judd,

And who hasn't noticed how cheap pizza is compared to days of yore? How many extra $$$ does this represent to a pizza joint wage bill? Wouldn't an extra 50c per pizza more than cover it?

  • Kumara Republic,

If I recall correctly, BNZ's chief economist Tony Alexander, hardly a raging socialist, was on record about 5 years ago telling companies whingeing about a certain minimum wage increase to "get a life" because it only applied to about 7% of the total workforce.

  • Kumara Republic,

Which is why this sort of disingenous whining kinda sluts me off:

I noticed the by-line for the Granny article had Simon Collins' name on it. I still remember when he wrote for the late lamented City Voice in Wellington. Has he actually turned coats, or is he merely toeing the party line?
