  • Brenda Leeuwenberg,

Can people overseas access TVNZ online as I posted a link for the 7 Worlds Collide doco on a list and they couldn't access it in the states?

They can't. But the links Russell posted for Heavenly Pop Hits were to NZ On Screen - and you can access that from anywhere :)

That's what you get for not reading things properly. I blame the kids who keep trying to come into the classroom at lunchtime and annoying me! :)

  • Russell Brown,

An interesting insider description of Aspergers from teenager Alex that some might relate to.

Thanks Hilary! I've flicked that on to both the boys to see what they think.

(BTW How do you embed it?)

Just paste in the URL, like you did, but with no code around it.

  • Michael Stevens,

I read the show's title as "Thong" at least half a dozen times before realising my error. I think I might even prefer it.

  • Sacha,

Or the motto of New Zealand Fashion Week: We know you're not a colour-blind child prostitute with an eating disorder, but where's the fun in that?

The Greasemonkey script for TVNZ ondemand may avoid the regional downloading thing?

  • Steve Parks,

Russell's mention of no code reminded me of the song 'Mankind' from Pearl Jam. Here's a you tube vid with the song and an odd and slightly creepy image, (presumably from an anti-smoking campaign?) ...

  • Simon Grigg,

Those Beatles things were both, uhhh, fab.

The '64 clip underlines just how far Epstein was happy to let them go to be loved by one and all.

How things change. Could you really imagine Roger telling Shayne that there was this Sunday night variety show on TV2 and all they had to do was....

I guess that's why Ray Wolfe was invented

    I thought "Bugger!"

Anyway we could have a whip around for some accelerant to have another go at the tent...I'm in

  • Russell Brown,

I had an email from Mike Hodgson of Pitch Black about how he's pulling off tomorrow night's show with a modest door price and comp tickets for people he likes.

    Tiger Beer.

They seem to be running a little experiment by funding four shows this month -- last week a house (music) party; Pitch Black this week; then an indie show curated by Paul McKessar; and The Turnaround at the end of the month.

Mike says he's had carte blanche in producing the show. That sounds promising.

God bless Firefox extensions. Now, if there was one for AutoTune...

    Craig:

"A sustained case of Gay Panic", apparently. And I thought I was badly dressed because I just didn't give a twopenny fuck. I'll just leave my toaster oven out by the letterbox, because its one sleep 'til Melbourne -- and I'll be shopping for second-hand books and a new cardie.

    Lucy:

(That'd be an interesting national motto, wouldn't it? "New Zealand: We Know How To Look Good, We Just Don't Give A Fuck".)

When in doubt, wear black all year round. Seems to work for Wellingtonians - and Melburnians, for that matter.

  • Geoff Lealand,

It might be a relic in these mp3 days (like the toothless rogue who runs it) but I was pleased to see that Spiller's Record Store (est. 1894) is still there, in downtown Cardiff. It is supposed to be the oldest record store in the world and was facing extinction, when I was last in Cardiff in 2007.

Melbournians wear much less black and dark grey than Wellingtonians.
