That's almost like swords-to-ploughshares. Except a brass band can be a terrifying weapon if used at close range. :-)

The Checks played Bayfield Music in the Field. Time stopped. Awesome band who should have been more revered. I loved Cherokee immediately. Also listening to new Byrne/St Vincent. Brass bands still need something extra to be really cool.

Wow, I downloaded Cat Power’s Cherokee it’s quite different to her early stuff! Might have to get the whole thing and have a proper listen. She’s very talented.

I didn't quite get 'Cherokee' when it hit the internets a while back, but a couple of listens to the whole album…

Yes, I have that album. They were big on bFM in 200?, but sort of came and went. Almost like a passing train. There is newer stuff, but I haven't been keeping track. Seems the early resonance faded.
