Lorde's cover of Rainbow's Man on a Silver Mountain and The Cult's Edie aren't bad for a school talent show.

Jet-lagged and partied out

She's 17. At that age her recovery time will still be amazing.

Might be my eyes but they haven’t stated what time the Lorde event is… which is kinda important consideration for them that work or live somewhere other than the inner city – I assume early evening?

Yeah, surely.

Can’t help but think how amazing it will be if she plays that show as a Grammy winner.

Jet-lagged and partied out! What could be more rawk 'n' rule than that? :)

Slightly convoluted solution, ticketing wise, but a good result for fans and organisers

If you haven't caught it already, here's the deal on Lorde and Laneway.

She goes to the Grammys (duh!), gets on a plane home and plays a show on the Laneway site two days after the festival. Can't help but think how amazing it will be if she plays that…

Saw Dobbyn and McGlashun last night at the Union Church in Islington. I'd forgotten quite how melancholic their respective music can be. Or maybe it was the venue? Either way a good night

a pirated copy of Ableton Live

and maybe some of our national investment in music-making infrastructure should be in that direction

And speaking of such things, Andrew Schmidt's article on The Stones has gone up on Audioculture. Features photographs of youthful hi-jinks.

When I come accross them, I always get at least one out loud laugh per NG interview. A tall order. Good on ya Noel. Meanwhile, gotta get on with listening to these music links. Thanks.

Although, I confess, we did sometimes behave quite badly as a household. In the happiest of ways.

I am not going to name the individual involved, but when I worked with Lesley in the 90s, we were sharing flatting horror stories, and she vividly described the pile of moldy dishes…

Speaking as Eddie’s Dad, I have appreciated the respect and support that Lorde has given her musical friends back home while she conquers the world. It has also been a privilege to get to know some of the other artists on this list – there is a LOT of talent…

That Watercolours track was on my first playlist thingy too. Great tune. A pretty cool selection.

It is.

Also, I know I'm not the only one hanging out for the next Watercolours EP with 'Night Swimmer' on it.

And I do like to see a Roland JC120 in its native habitat. You guys must have been popular with the neighbours. Those things are loud.

Oddly enough, while I’ve lived in flats where the band would plague the neighbours, I don’t think that was one of them.

Although, I…
