  • Kimberley Verburg,

PA has just become so much easier to read on my iPhone, thank you. And pretty too! Well, until the kitteh scrolldown. Aie.

  • matthewbuchanan,

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated and we’ll evaluate it all. Look for fixes to a few of the things noted here tomorrow.

  • Steve Parks, in reply to Steve Parks,

Edit: okay, editing works the same…good…

hmm, except it seems if you go “Edit” then click “Cancel” nothing happens.
Back button does the job, though.

Edit: Oh and you’ve still got that quirk with Italics where you have to put in an extra space after the italicised word to make it look right. (As I have not done above, but have here.)

  • Che Tibby,

ps. had it pointed out to me that in the 'About' page Yellow Peril is still listed as a current blog.

  • Just thinking,

My little photo is of Tiptree (3 story cob)Cottage, my own photo, but I have no ownership of the building. It's just west of CHC Aport.

  • Kimberley Verburg,

While seeking in vain for Yellow Peril archives, I accidentally clicked "join mailing list" and got a 404.

  • ScottY,

Looks great, Russell. Being able to easily look at all the past posts someone wrote is a bit weird though.

  • JackElder, in reply to Sacha,

Ah, thank you for that. The serif font was really getting to me.

  • Robert Urquhart,

Had to turn off typekit in Chrome on XP, but it's bearable in Firefox.

One thing I have noticed looking at the list of my comments is that the the heading/time of what will now be the second-to-last I have made runs -through- the little infinity sign/permalink on it's way to the next line.

Good thing the site remembered logins across the rebuild, because it seems I'd forgotten my password (and the better apart of an hour has passed, the recovery email still hasn't arrived - though I do know better than to assume email is instant) :D

  • barnaclebarnes,

One small comment apart from it looks friken awesome....

PA Radio seems to take a big backseat - You can only access the latest audio track from the home page and it doesn't show at all on the other pages. Maybe a line in the second column below "Public Address System" labelled "Public Address Radio" that takes you to the /radio page?

  • andrea quin,

For some reason, 30 comments per page doesn't seem like enough now. How about 50?

And just in case no-one has noticed, the audio posts aren't working yet. Error message says:

    The page at http://publicaddress.net says:
    jPlayer 1.2.0 : id='jquery_jplayer3' : Error!
    Problem with Flash component.
Check the swfPath points at the Jplayer.swf path.
    swfPath = /publicaddress/static/js
    url: /publicaddress/static/js/Jplayer.swf
Error: self._getMovie().fl_play_mp3 is not a function

  • 81stcolumn,

Oh er um er....I kind of like this one but I was kind of familiar with the old one. I suspect I will have to do something with my gravatar, which is probably no bad thing. So ! on with progress and well done on the upgrade.

  • David Cormack,

Love it. Publicaddress is blocked at work so I can only view this site from my mobile phone and it is now a LOT more mobile friendly. Kudos to you and yours Russell.

One complaint I do have though is I just re-read my old comments. I was a tool.

  • HORansome,

I like how I can know go through my meagre archive of contributions and flag everything I've written as inappropriate. I've been such a bad boy...

Out of curiousity, why can't we have HTML in posts (I'm asking from a technical perspective as opposed to a whiny one). If we can't have HTML, can we have LaTeX instead?

  • Russell Brown,

Prefer absolute date/time as in old design.

Me too. We'll amend that or make it an option.

  • Kracklite,

An effluvium of niceness, indeed, but one point regarding the ergonomics, I do miss the ability to select specific pages.

    Is not as convenient as

    1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6… 394

when you have to spend significant periods offline and then need to catch up in a hurry.

I've always wanted to be able to jump back through a discussion - well done.

    Unless I'm missing sumfing (probably).

It is an option, isn't it? Hover over the "X minutes ago" to get the actual time/date.
