Chloe says she’s had a member’s bill banning alcohol sponsorship and advertising drafted for some time.

Thats talking drug harm reduction, proper, IMHO.

Hard to argue with an @dr, but I’ll give it a go.

I agree, sort of, but the tweet is nearly meaningless and next to useless because it’s just a sentence without context. It’s just floating in some artificial timeline, endorsed by some popular internet influencer in an attempt to add gravitas. Its unfortunate the internet is being allowed to turn such things to cheese.

What inequality? are we talking about the unequal relationships between drug dependent prostitutes, their drug suppliers, their clients and or pimp?

Is it the unequal power imbalance between a child and a parent who has a prescription drug addiction which results in neglect?

It it plain ordinary economic inequality such as working class drinking culture compared to middle class? Where the lower class is more harmed because they are too stupid to drink at the dinner table?

What about maybe, inequality is just harmful. Anyone who say, gets a $200 fine for being homeless and steeping in a car, is being harmed regardless of drug use, correct?

Yes, and there are drugs that can help to isolate you from feeling much of it. Both the impoverished person who’s just been punished for being poor and the middle classed bystander who just doesn’t want to care.

Drug harm can happen to anyone. Go visit your local detox unit.

But yes, people who are struggling with poverty related illness, will be more likely to suicide on drugs that people who live in the leafy suburbs.
The criminality thing is another whole layer of drug harm and inequality.

Conclusion: Twitter is where people publicly masturbate each other, mostly.

  • steven crawford,

And to expand on inequality: “the nub of the harm of drugs is inequality”

Privet rehab is huge business in New Zealand.

    Accessing these is hideously expensive.

There was a move away from the publicly funded residential rehab and the funding was redirected into addiction treatment in prisons.

    Thats a bit fucked up.

Decriminalising drugs is going to prevent low waged people from accessing prison for rehab.

Eh? It is a person @DrRoseC live-tweeting what speaker @FionaPattenMLC said at that moment at an event with the hashtag #drugmaze21 - you can see the whole thread at https://twitter.com/search?q=%23drugmaze21&src=typed_query

Nobody is forcing you to follow Twitter if you dislike it so much. Hardly any NZers use it compared with Facecloth for example. I am not sure what has gotten into you lately.

  • steven crawford,

    Segregation

"The change will end the practice of mixed-use motels, which were unpopular with Rotorua accommodation providers who often didn’t know if their guests would be emergency housing tenants or another member of the public if booking were made through a third-party website like Expedia."

Another problem with legalisation. Current drug law policy is incarcerating margionalised people in prison which is less politically embarrassing than having them mix with the general public.

  • steven crawford,

So to answer your question “Eh?”

It’s like a news paper headline that has no actual content. Imagine if a newspaper headlined said Rouge planet on collision corse with earth and then just some smiley faces. Thats fine?

I looked at the thread you linked to. Its leaning more toward machine language code than human, just saying. But I do realise all its data has been input by humans. (Very important humans).

    It’s the long goodbye –

Journalism is already showing advanced symptoms such as retweeting itself.

  • steven crawford,

    From twitter:

Call me a luddite, but I'm super looking forward to when the world gets over its obsession with instructional videos and goes back to step-by-step written ones.

I like being able to read-then-do without having to mess about watching unnecessary stuff, pausing etc.

    #oldandgrumpy

You don't get to be called a luddite while you're still signed into the confines of Twitter algorithms. Luddite status doesn't just land in your lap-top.

Video verse writer instruction is more a neurological processing preference rather than just technological.

    No your stuff:-)
