Prediction for tonight – the poll says Labour and the Greens can govern alone. Will the Gallery pull back from their “tax is damaging Labour” narrative?
Spot on.

All this fuss about commitments and changed commitments. In an MMP world, it simply isn't possible for one party to make guarantees like that unless they are also going to guarantee not to enter into any coalition.

I'd like to buy a beer for the RNZ newsreader at 5pm tonight who was just talking about the increase in advance voting this election and then went on to say 'more people than usual were taking the drug...' (or words to that effect )
- I had heard this voting is addictive, nice to have it confirmed. -

That tear-off ticket at the lower right corner of the Electoral Commission letter does look a bit like an oversized chunk of blotter acid.

Gee...and I gave it to the poll clerk without sucking on it.

If once having been a member of a communist party is enough to be excluded from parliament then Keith Locke would have been.

I find it odd that both NZ First and Labour's letterbox 'party flyers' don't have their websites listed on them - the one for our local MP (Poto Williams - Labour) does - I threw the National one away so I can't check that.
I guess it isn't hard to work out what their websites would be, but I'd have thought that they wouldn't put any impediment to people following things up...
