Today is Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day, and our workshop kicks off at 10am.

remember pre-pasted wallpaper, same system probably….
– but light tight or in a darkroom – maybe a pull-through-two-trough
system so you can get even development immersion at all points …

I used the finest needle I could find in my wife's stash and then only just pricked the tiniest end through, then finely sanded off the small bump on the reverse that the needle had made. Making the inside of the copper and the shiny plastic of the body cap…

A beer can seems to work well, with the tip of the pin just poking through. Maybe also look at the width of the hole around the pinhole, as if the light hits any ridges – you probably knew that already.

Not sure what happened there, but deleted last one, as seemed the words at least repeated. Tifs won’t post, unfortunately.

We talked about using copper shim yesterday, and I learnt a valuable lesson about reflection from inside the lens cap. So obvious when you think about it.

I made a new 'lens' by beating a thin sheet of copper extra thin and then piercing it with my finest needle, then I burnt a cork over a candle this morning to make the inside of the lens cap really matt black. Seems to work pretty well

Indoor shot. 10min exposure.

The orginal print on paper (bottom) looked too underexposed, but after scanning there was way more detail than I expected.

Paper as negative is quite a new experience for me, but it is an interesting medium to play with.

Where does one get “Photo sensitive paper” these days?

We plan to use Ilford Mutli-grade paper. There’s some good write ups on using it for Pinhole photography.

Thanks Phil. Yes, I’ve been thinking of retro-fitting the body cover with some foil or aluminium.

One thing it does allow is to experiment with exposures and perfecting the pinhole…
