Great theme. Coming from Seattle, I thought I would be at a disadvantage on this subject. Generally our skies look like this. Blue, but not the clear azure of the original intent…

…and then I realized there are at least one or two clear days each year. Last 4th of July we were lucky with the weather. “Oh say can you see….?”

Although even when some of the sky is blue, there’s often clouds lurking, even directly at sea-level.

But some days, there’s not a cloud in the sky, and the blue is so strong it almost hurts.
