Tried to catch these feasting ants, but damn they move fast.

Tried to capture one of them, but the bastard wouldn’t sit still. A spider nearby wasn’t moving, but it had the temerity to blend in to the background well enough I couldn’t quite figure out how to focus my phone on it. Flowers, at least, sit still – except when the spring wind blows them. Had a bit of success with this old snail shell, though. My daughter loves snails, but they haven’t come back from wherever they hide over the winter yet, so every day after kindy she runs around the garden outside checking out the piles of leftover, bleached out abandoned shells from last season. This one is “The Big One”, and one of her favourites.

I do like the pale shell though.
Them ants are tricky, I managed to get some sharpish ones of them slicing up a caterpillar

Unfortunately.... The wee one's perhaps a bit too wee to understand impermanence, but she's coping quite well with her favourite snail shell being broken.

  • Jos,

Broken snail shell is more dramatic than whole snail shell of course.

    Nice ones Hebe.
