Another one enjoying the afternoon sun

What a fine Tab Julie. Love it when their fur goes all carpetty and ruffled.

What a pretty pair. Wish my two would make a truce – closest they’ll hang out is a meter.

  • Russell Clarke, in reply to SteveH,

Wow, he’s a beauty. We’ve been thinking about getting another cat, and a Maine Coon has always appealed to me.

Sadly we don’t think one would mix with our local wildlife – which could probably be said for most cats – but apparently Maine Coons are prolific hunters. I don’t want to find Pukey (or Tooty the Pheasant, or George the American Quail come to think of it) on the doorstep first thing in the morning.

And our Ocicat that we had for far too soon. Was my daughter’s best friend. And up to a year after she disappeared our daughter would entreat us that we had to go find her:(

Steve this is our cat Amadeus , a Maine Coon as a kitten. He was born a twin to a short haired tabby we called Wolfgang.

I’m not just singing the song, I’m picturing Raymond B at the form 2 disco doing tuck-jumps in time to the chorus.

  • Islander, in reply to Russell Clarke,

I am so going to get a Maine Coon when I head over the hill – they’re not great birders (which was what, among other virtues, attracted me to them) but they are death for rodents.

    Odin is *splendid*-

Nora , he loved sitting in the driveway looking at birds for ages. Did not kill any but was a good hunter by presenting rats and mice. Such a generous little companion. Sadly missed . Gone to kitty cat heaven in 2005.

Those Maine Coons sure know how to strike a captivating pose… wonderful.

Nora, my lovely stripey boy was a bengal. Sadly, I had to give him away (long story with multiple leaps from first floor apartments) but he’s a rat catcher in a barn now and very happy.

Yet another beautiful and desirable breed….. I understand they are a bit too smart and keep their people well and truly on their toes, sounds like he knew a thing or two about that.
