I'm guessing it's a problem with rotating a pic taken at right angles to usual horizon base in a viewing program that maybe doesn't stretch to embedding in other programs – maybe a 'save as' might override the 'preview'…

The sand dunes are great fun, and surprisingly big. Children provided for scale.
