  • Hard News: Friday Music: The Story,

Yeah I don't think we can say the US sat out the EDM of the 90s - although it was possibly very garage/house centred (given where house got its name from etc). It always struck me that through the 90s you could see Europe's classical musical history vs the US's blues/soul history evolved in their EDM*
Wouldn't mind checking the Farina/Sneak/Carter tour I understand is happening up north recently...

    * I hate that term, why am I using it?!

Promising sounding work on the health policy George. Exactly how Kevin Hague's "access to therapies with no proven benefit" plays out will be very interesting though...

I've seen some psychometrics used reasonably in the early stage of hiring to decide the sort of questions you might want to ask in the actual interviewing process. But using it in redundancy baffles me? Or any assessment once you're actually working with the person?

BTW, I must admit to some surprise that the PAS audience so aggressively belittles and others an entire group of people because they work in HR? I don't work in it, but people I know who do skew as evenly across the dickhead-to-awesomeness range as anyone else...

I was referencing US sanctions. Unsure what the usual extent of UN sanctions are?

  • Hard News: This time it's Syria, in reply to Don Christie,

Where are the sanctions and other no violent options being discussed? Surely the NSA can grab all of Assad's assets?

US Syrian sanctions have been in place for a while now, including the seizure of all property of the Syrian government and it's senior members.

When Judith Collins takes over the National Party (plausibly after a Key-won election) I'm not sure I want her to have the power (alongside one of her appointees given recent form) to sign off our supposedly-international surveillance agency intercepting all mobile calls in the interest of poorly defined "cyber security"...

  • Hard News: U: It's about the combos,

Out of interest, what are the advertising rate card implications? I'm presuming you don't pay any extra as an advertiser because there's a +1 showing, so are they just looking for higher eyeball numbers to then push rates up over time?

So is there an immediate complete loss of whatever revenue U was generating?

Dylan - Netflix or Hulu Plus? About to go that way myself - AD etc on Netflix suggests its better, does Hulu really get any worthy tv shows that Netflix don't?

Also, amazing timing from Slingshot to announce a "global service" on their Internet plans on the same day - i.e. ISP provided VPN to let you watch US based geoblocked content without faffing about with VPN settings yourself

Could somebody discuss the intersections of this process with Auckland Transports and Watercare's planning? Have they already input, or do they take this Draft and submit on "infrastructure do-ability" with what's been outlined in it?
