  • Hard News: Awesome,

I have just requested an absentee ballot. It is absurdly complicated (like all American paperwork). I get a distinct feeling they don't want me to vote...

one of the few things you cant do via xbox it seems

  • Southerly: The Joys of Unclehood,

    prefers sushi to Maccas,

mine kids of joy love the sushi. although its not so convenient in a pinch, and the toys that come with it aint as exciting....

    * * * *

i am blessed with a few crazy 'uncles' who always love to bring the noise. It's like a sport, and could only really cause issues with wayward children [don't think for a second that mine are ruled under a 'too strict' regime....]. there is even a certain joy in the squealing of the new noisy toy at 5:30 the following morning. the sport goes both ways with everyone trying their hardest to find that perfect 'bordering on inappropriate' toy or book that ends up being a fave. such as 'the story of the little mole who know it was none of his business' that makes a perfect birthday gift.

one such uncle, richarquis, on a visit from Wellywood last weekend managed to bring a hideously tricky Escher mirror puzzle for the six year old [she loves it].

the true joy came from the packets of squealing shrieking rocket balloons, the finger lights, and the hilariously cute flying shrieking monkey that, in tandem with it being 'dance night' at the walker ranch caused this:

it starts with monkey in full flight, you will get the full picture by the 25 sec mark.

The monkey is in a stable condition, but will probably never be able to dance again.

  • Hard News: National Exuberance,

it's damn easy being green, as long I don't have to make any sacrifices, or be inconvenienced, or pay the cost.

so true. it will be interesting to see, as fuel prices start to drop again, whether those who 'fled' to public/alternative transport will stay there.

  • Hard News: Listen to the Music,

gagging for the new Timmy Schumacher single with the guy from OpShop singing on it, but no, too risky apparently.

Its a stormer of a tune. with the kind of crossover yet credible sound that The Chemical Brothers manage with their colaborations. Plus the OpShop guy does sound gooooood [and i have never gravitated towards their sound, at all]. It has hit written all over it. fools.

Russell. I entreat you: do not name any further blog posts after Doobie Brothers songs. I shall go mad with this earworm. Mad I say! :)

HMMMM, i was thinking Neon Heights myself....

for the quality junkies: 234mb version of White Winter Hymnal here

  • Hard News: Beijing: Ignoring it is not…,

And I do wish you'd asked B. this question: "Well, how would you feel if you'd seen 19 shots of your daughter's corpse -- including close ups of her brused and scratched limbs, back and neck. Really?"

he would have countered with his solve-all block-all well rehearsed statement that as a father he would have been glad to see the case get the publicity in the hope that it may lead to a conviction. There were moments during m7 that I almost thought he believed it.

Jeremy Newsboy was only giving B those few generic compliments to butter him up and make Jeremy seem more fair, wasnt he?
