Sorry for the long copy and paste, but from a former cop ...........
The moment you step into the police, this sub culture within NZ culture hits you. You are immediately part of the thin blue line. You are part of a team and that team looks after itself. You are special. You are the border between good and evil. The attitudes of the police instructors, armed not with teaching certificates but with ten years exposure to the police sub culture, either consciously or subconsciously invite you into the forest.
To step out of police college is to take the next step into the forest. You are now part of the difference between law and order in the streets where gangs would rule and evil would triumph. But for you and your fellow coppers, society would be a dangerous place. Your mission is to protect society from this evil. Very soon you learn to decide what is evil and what is not. You are no longer just a collector of human rubbish at the base of the cliff but you have an obligation; yes, even a duty to guide the country to a decent society. That direction is best decided by you and others in your sub culture of police, for what better epitomizes the values of a decent society than those cherished by the men and women in blue? Your task is honourable. What better vocation than to rid the country of evil? Thus, achieving this end can even justify the means
When I speak about a police culture, I speak about the environment I have described. It is introverted, self protecting and lacking objectivity. It is a culture which looks after itself and has a certain view of how life should proceed. It is reinforced by drinking and bonding sessions. The 'them and us' ethos becomes tangible. What is more, the culture is working class conservative in its origins. Bigoted and intolerant. Few of its officer corps are university graduates and even fewer hail from private schools.
The police are insular.
If someone has tattoos or hair too long or dresses the 'wrong' way or does not have 'acceptable' politics, then they are one of 'them' and not to be trusted. Conversely liberals are a menace to stability and are even more dangerous than unemployed Maori. -
Ross Mason compared my distrust of the Govt and its Census with being anti-vaccination.

What kind of muppet can draw a conclusion like that ??????.
Census .............. vaccination. Yeah those two issues are really really similar.
Back in the real world, I believe that our Census shows that there is twice as many Samoan woman living in Nz as Samoan males.
I'm not sure if its a hang-over from the dawn raid days but it seems that Samoan males feel that those bastards from the Govt with their clip-boards are not to be trusted.
I agree.
Our Census results in large amounts of crap bogus data.
It probably helps the Govt decide which minority it can scapegoat.
Btw the Statistics Dept actually has some very heavy regulations compelling New Zealanders to submit and comply with their invasion of our privacy.
Just so we dont forget who's in charge of us .................

Here's how you deal with the census.
When the census people come to your dwelling they always ask how many people will be there on census night.
If you dont want to do a census, subtract yourself from the number of people who will be there and request that many census forms (one short ).
That way you will never have to do a census.
Its my total lack of trust and respect towards our 'leaders' that I'm expressing.
Maybe one day the census will come with little colored stars that all the different types of humans can wear ........

Sorry for dissin the pigs ............. it was just a generic insult presenting an image of mean stupidity.
In fact its a negative sterotype smear against pigs which probably helps us ( humans ) gloss over our terrible treatment towards them .......they get tortured for greed.
But the truth is Tom has shown he is an arsehole with his attitude towards cannabis users.
Lets not pretend otherwise.

I apologize to all those apart from Tom who may have taken offense.
BUT I took offense at his use of a stereotype smear.
Racism, bigotry and persecution are all based on them.
Imagine if Tom had said "I don't have much time for Blacks - far to many of them are losers " ........
I suppose his stereotype smear allows him to feel superior and good about himself.
It tells us far more about him than cannabis users.........

Its almost ironic, that through Tom Semmens addled negative sterotype smear against cannabis users, that I can say, without risk of tarring the innocent, that Tom Semmens is a pig ignorant arsehole ............ in relation to cannabis users ;-) .
I have a theory about about the brains of the users of that hard drug alcohol.
Alcohol is an 'aggressigenic' drug, its also quite neurotoxic. My theory is that the druggies we know of as 'drinkers' become more aggressive, intolerant and bigoted ................ even when they are not taking, or are intoxicated by their drug alcohol.
I think it helps explains why there are so many intolerant arseholes in New Zealand.
And all those grown up FAS children are todays stupid adults.
Anyway enough of this , lets talk the world rugby cup.

Well I guess we all just have to accept that the police tell lies in regards to cannabis .................. It makes you wonder what else they spin and lie about.
And they keep awfully quiet in regards to the drug that actually causes a crime wave every weekend in NZ ............... the booze. We all know the crimes that the drug booze has a hand in, crimes like street assult, pissed driving, domestic violence, rape etc etc.
To quote from some Professors and Doctors who have been given the brush off by our politicians in regards to lowering the harms and costs that the drug booze causes in NZ^^The truth is that alcohol is the most neurotoxic and carcinogenic of the 50 most commonest recreational drugs. It is also one of the most aggressigenic. But we have such an ingrained heavy-drugging (drinking) culture that the Government wont recognize the fundamental issue that alcohol is a drug, let alone a drug with such harmful properties that it would be banned if it was new today. The Government is clearly more than happy to continue to enable the excessive commercialization of alcohol for the foreseeable future .^^
I'd like to ask, is it corruption that is stopping the Govt from forcing the booze industry to pay for the costs of their drug on NZ???.
At present the Govt is protecting this legal drug industry from paying for the harms of their drug.
Smells like corruption to me.
