Could we also, perhaps, not follow North America's silly little ways and not talk about "daylight savings".
It's always been about saving daylight towards the evening.

I would have thought the logic was obvious. Temporary seating as required for Eden Park. Pay for it from sale of tickets. Pull the temporary lot down afterwards and there is no change of impact for the Mt Eden residents around this stadium.
No need for the ratepayers, or government, to be involved at all. As in geometry -- QED.
Or is the Rugby Union trying to build a monument?
