..by reading a *gasp* book or newspaper or having a proper, leisurely meal.

Where can one get a leisurely meal at the airport that does not taste like shredded suitcase or cost at least as much as the fare you have paid?

Who actually wastes their time watching the odious little man? It must only to be to exercise their gag reflex.
I'd prefer the title. "I'm Henry. Flay me."

  • Hard News: On the Waterfront,

    From your original post

... where the line takes a roundabout bath to Eden Park.

now that's got imagination! I think every roundabout should have a bath. It would make Auckland a tourist mecca.

  • Island Life: A week in the life of that…,

Do you think John Key is a weathervane or a weathercock?

I Know that Graham Reid has already used the title but I think with all the nasty stress he's been under it's time to suggest some "Songs in the Life of Key" for soothing tunes he could put on his iPod.
    I'l kick off with:
Rankin' Full Stop (The Beat) Here Comes Richard (Billy Bragg) or Was it Worth it? (Pet Shop Boys) and Hey Paula (sorry, before my time!).
    Any other suggestions?

I will be spending this Sunday morning rabble-rousing.

Congratulations Mr Slack! Never before have I seen such a well roused rabble as the one at Point Erin. I think you may have started something....

  • Island Life: Q+A. Fill in the blanks.,

Unfortunately, that's Garth George, not satire.

Good old Garth George. I remember him on the radio saying that he was moving out of Auckland as he considered it the arsehole of the country. I couldn't help thinking if that was true then he was possibly the old fart escaping from it.

  • Island Life: And some with a fountain pen,

I was thinking of an acronym along the lines Financial Unwinding of Corporate Kingdoms of Unimaginable Proportions.

I recommend reading John Clarke's lecture from his father in the latest Listener. It is the Desiderata of our times.

Family Health Diary as the prime example of the modern snake oil sales pitch. Find a suitable ache, itch or disfunction and create a pill or potion to cure it. Never mind whether it works or not, slap on a high price and promote the hell out of it.
