  • Capture: Colour is the new black,

You know, this feels like I've walked through a hidden door in the street and discovered an ever so slightly random exhibition of photos that keeps growing matrix-like, and I'm wandering around overhearing fascinating conversations and brushing shoulders with gorgeous folk and it's just GLORIOUS. a triple treat alright.

  • Capture: Colour is the new black, in reply to merc,

Shot this photo of a photo, happy accident.

The tear! Got that prickly feeling in the back of my nose before a tear appears.

hehe Islander, here's a straight-legged blast of colour... I like to think the lighting is courtesy of my husband who was a sparky on this old tower. way back when.

Hey! My Mini 1000 used to fly round those old country roads. ;-)

Did we race? Mine was only 850cc. 1964, I think. Still used to fly - proximity to the ground, I believe, you could hear the gravel whistling... I would share an interior pic of the hounds-tooth upholstery, but a stuffed dog and bubble gum jeans have photo-bombed that shot. There are limits.

Love Jackie's car seat shot... I had the same one I think. This blog really inspires digging out half remembered images.

  • Capture: Flash Cars, in reply to Joe Wylie,

Joe, I am a friend of John's on Facebook and get the photos on a daily basis, complete with local commentary. Much better but I suspect this started as frippery and has gained momentum and Jalbum is an easy organiser if not a friendly one. Perhaps one day cars on main street will have its own website thingy. Pleased you took a peek.

  • Capture: Flash Cars,

And for car lovers who may not know of this, there is a photographer in Greytown who has a related series of captures called "cars on main street"... can't believe the beauties gracing that town. Try this link (I hope it works) for some of NZ's finest old car (south of those big hills, of course).

I come from great "flash cars" stock (my dad being an A-grade mechanic with a bent for American style) but my own contribution is pathetic: one Austin Mini, one GTi Peugeot and an A4 Audi... This is my favourite Kodachrome ... my dad and I at National Park with his 1958 Plymouth Savoy... still time to get my bogan on and get some fins... the desire is there!

Hi JP, thought I would join the fun with this old shot of Mt Victoria. From a renovation in Roxburgh Street.
