  • Bingle Struthers,

One is compelled to agree with Rattue – this little more protracted affair, a dwindling romance. We're trying to enjoy a tender rendezvous with a lady, only to have a lot of grubby children turn up at our table.
Gratifying that you bring up Gallaway and those other princes of the microphone and the pen.
As it happens, I had the pleasure of coaching a young RJ Kennedy, at that stage a left-arm quick, when he was in the junior grades. Much later in his career he was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition that, among other things, kept him from remembering what arm to bowl with.

I dunno - what happened in the SA-Sri Lanka game today was pretty memorable.

  • Grant Robertson,

ah, Bingle you have to understand, half the fun of the romance is in the anticipation. If we went straight for the kiss what would it mean as much?

your work with Kennedy has gone unrecognised. was it you that told Turner he had the goods? tell me is he still playing President's Grade for Green Island?

  • WH,

Chris Rattue's column on 'the sham of the World Cup' is a bizarre piece. In summary, all world sporting tournaments are flawed, the Cricket World Cup is especially buggered, and Chris has not watched a game since Bob Woolmer's untimely passing. Eh?

Its been six months since Rattue triggered that international incident before the Wales test. For a guy who writes about sport for a living, he doesn't seem to like it very much.

  • LegBreak,

Meanwhile the big debate of the day rages on....

Does Mailnga's effort this morning constitute a Double Hatrick? Or is that 6 in 6??

Opinions on this (seemingly trivial?) vital issue to found on the Mailinga thread on www.sportsfreak.co.nz

  • Kyle Matthews,

If that was two hat tricks, then if he'd got the 5th wicket next ball, he would have had three.

So no, I think the only person to get four (apparently in the Windies I heard on the radio this morning, this is known as a Bever) is a good enough recognition for it.
