  • Sofie Bribiesca,

A friend of ours got his RBA 2010 Tshirt on Thursday, just in time to wear on Xmas day. It was very smart. His comment was, he "saw it on Bob the baby and thought styly, must get one. :)

You mean......the tee shirts ARE real??

Hey David. Pretty please make mine large if I may.

You never know the Minister of Regurgitated Solace and Tarot might want a book writ after him too if I wear it around the place.

    You know where I am!!!!!

  • Emma Hart,

So what are the autographed copies selling for now?

First person to "persuade" Peter Dunne to sign a copy may well find themselves very well rewarded financially. And covered in kudos, but that's okay, it comes off in the shower.

  • David Haywood,

Thanks for posting that, Phil. Finally the business pages have caught on to the big financial story of the year.

Strange (as I read it) that the journalist is under the impression that the Annual has only sold 55 copies. In fact, we were selling hundreds of copies per day in the run-up to Christmas.

However, it will be highly useful come tax time, when I can prove that we have barely made a cent by attaching this article to my IR5. After all, it's not as if journalists would make a mistake in their reporting.

P.S. And yes, tee-shirts are a possibility in the New Year. Have had quality control issues so have to revisit the manufacturing options. Still have some owed to people.

  • Ben Austin,

Is it possible to buy a signed copy from any Wellington book stores?

  • David Haywood,

    Hi Ben,

    No, it's not, I'm afraid.

But if you buy the book directly from Public Address here:

    http://publicaddress.net/default,6246.sm

And fill in Paypal's 'Message to vendor' box with the words "Signed copy please" then you shall indeed receive a signed copy!

BTW books are almost always dispatched within 24 hours.

    Cheers,
    David

  • 3410,

That'd be a Paypal indulgence, right?

  • Joe Wylie,

The feeling of 'selling out' comes upon one gradually. First, you take 240 bottles of Monteith's . . .

I'll drink to that. I just checked with someone who was rather more "on the ground" than I was back in the day, and my recollection is correct. "Selling out" was synonymous with liquid laughter, yodelling, and talking to the ground in technicolor.

Example: "We stopped at North Beach, where the poor bastard sold out and spent half an hour going through it looking for his contact lens. I never thought of him as a proper bodgie after that."

So what are the autographed copies selling for now?

I have a copy of the Reserve Annual signed by Emma and a copy of Not Safe for Work signed by David... I can feel them accruing in value on my shelves by the minute.

  • Judi Lapsley Miller,

Was in Unity in the weekend and saw copies of The Annual stacked in the NZ table but not very visible. So I grabbed a handful and liberally put them out on display all around the table.

    HTH :-)

  • Ben Austin,

Thanks for the assistance David, now all I need to work out is why Paypal won't let me deliver to NZ using a UK Paypal account. Any ideas anyone?
