  • Sacha, in reply to Steve Parks,

There's a lot of goodwill around those kinds of orders.

Unless you're an arrogant blowhard like Slater.

  • Russell Brown,

Tonight's show should come up pretty well. Glenda Hughes was good value, and had some comments on offering advice to, er, difficult clients.

  • steven crawford,

    Some science from 2011.
Entropy-based Classification of ‘Retweeting’ Activity on Twitter

Automatic retweeting with a regular pattern has a lower time interval entropy, and is therefore, more predictable, than human retweeting, which is more broadly distributed and less predictable.

  • steven crawford,

Okay, now I’m seriously thinking it's time for me to sign up to Twitter.
Twitter CEO tweeting the new policy regarding political discourse. And it would still be cool to build a Twitter bot.

Thanks Russell, for tweeting a pointer to this: https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12281685&utm_source=twitter%26utm_medium%3Dsocial%26utm_campaign%3Dnzh_tw%20

It’s food for the conceptual arts - multi dimensional.

  • steven crawford,

Read a review of the new iPad mini. The screen size makes reading beyond scrolling the twitter timelines actually palatable. And that reading sophisticated writing on the train isn’t embarrassing because the iPad mini looks a bit like a phone!

It’s actually the classic design but with contemporary chips, the same as the latest iPhones.

I’m setting myself up to do some Uber driving. I get to justify buying some new technology as (needed) business expenses.

Those colours too. Sharp and quick...

Thats about right, and the touch quality is also improving.

Interestingly, if your brain is wired up a bit like mine – the apple stylus (apple pen), hasn’t changed fundamentally, yet its incompatible with the older screens. And the incompatible charger business again:-(

Wacom, uses magnetic resonance technology so those pens do not need batteries. But then thats an entirely different thing for a different, more precise job.

I’m pretty dysgraphic, so I prefer the keyboard over hand scribbling at any rate.

  • steven crawford,

Y'know, what, Twitter is actually fucked. Donald Trump is using the platform to insight a war, without any moderation. That could course serious consequences for expensive smartphone advertising projects moving forward.

  • steven crawford,

A look at the social media revolution.

From the Arab Spring to Trump's Twitter Feed, How Social Media Changed Middle East Politics

Trump, like Netanyahu, has used social media to attack the traditional media as “fake news” when outlets criticize him. Recently, Trump has even branded his own allies in the media, like Fox News and the evangelical magazine Christian Today, as “far left” and “pathetic.” His willingness to attack the media outlets that helped get him elected underscores his faith in his influence on social media to either silence his critics or to bypass them altogether and directly land his message with his target audience.

Donald Trump is the Dalek commander. And he's building his clones in your smart phone devise. True story!

  • steven crawford,

I went to Russell brown’s twitter (because its whats good about twitter) then I clicked on Chloe Swarbrick’s twitter (because she has her finger on the political pulse) and naturally Deborah Russell’s link was right up there under the “You may also like” list of options, so of corse I went to Deborah Russell’s twitter (because she’s cool, and I like her).

When I set my Macintosh computer to privet browser, the algorithms arranged my social life into a completely different sequence. I don’t even have a twitter account, yet twitter is capable of pushing my buttons. I felt kind of duped when I discovered twitter doesn’t truly love me. Or even truly care about the future of humanity. Yes it was a consensual and casual affair I had with twitter, but It still feels a bit grubby.

And privet browsing on Duck Duck Go isn’t privet when you go to twitter (or any other browser platform from its search lists) But the privet browser function on The Mac OS - Safari, is privet ( a little bit ).
